We arranged a transfer from airport to hotel through the hotel. They were waiting for us upon arrival. Dinner at restaurant was delicious. Enjoyed a lovely breakfast the following morning and a relaxing time in the hot tub. Highly recommend and would stay again!

I have stayed at the Grano del Oro on numerous occasions and it’s always a five stars experience. The hotel, an old Spanish mansion with gorgeous woodwork and appointments, is beautiful. The staff are incredible and helpful also. Marco and the front desk staff are great, and don’t miss Carlos at the beautiful bar. The restaurant is excellent and has added some creative touches to its menu in addition. A must stay in San Jose!

After an issue with my room that was resolved the next day, my stay at the Hotel Grano de Oro went very well. The hotel was converted from a former house, is well maintained, and my room was clean, comfortable with a modern bathroom and walk in shower. It is centrally located and a welcome oasis to return to after a day out spent sightseeing or touring. All of the staff are friendly, professional, service oriented, and many speak English which is very helpful for non-Spanish speakers. The restaurant has a welcoming ambiance and a very good breakfast, plus a varied menu for lunch and dinner. In particular I would like to acknowledge the excellent customer service I received from Mario, the General Manager; Carlos, Jazmin and Ramon in the restaurant for breakfast; and Catherine and the entire Front Desk team. Their patience, help and assistance during my stay was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend the Hotel Grano de Oro and will definitely stay there on my next visit to San José.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Grano de Oro in San José. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, and we were especially fascinated by the charm of the historic building. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is also excellent for exploring the city. Although breakfast is only offered à la carte, it was still very delicious and of high quality.

Great hotel. We only stayed one night as a layover to collect a hire car. They arranged a transfer from the airport, upgraded our room and the dinner in the restaurant was really good. We were even adventurous enough to walk into the centre for a couple of drinks in Piso 3 and also do walk in the park first thing in the morning.

Our stay was best described as ‘short but sweet’! The hotel is truly amazing in terms of decor, staff and accommodations. Five star all the way! We enjoyed an amazing meal at the restaurant and breakfast was also superb. Our waiter, Roman, was absolutely the most helpful and cordial you could imagine. Truly an overall gracious experience. We’ll definitely be back to the Grano de Oro at our first opportunity.
