We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Grano de Oro in San José. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, and we were especially fascinated by the charm of the historic building. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is also excellent for exploring the city. Although breakfast is only offered à la carte, it was still very delicious and of high quality.

Great hotel. We only stayed one night as a layover to collect a hire car. They arranged a transfer from the airport, upgraded our room and the dinner in the restaurant was really good. We were even adventurous enough to walk into the centre for a couple of drinks in Piso 3 and also do walk in the park first thing in the morning.

Our stay was best described as ‘short but sweet’! The hotel is truly amazing in terms of decor, staff and accommodations. Five star all the way! We enjoyed an amazing meal at the restaurant and breakfast was also superb. Our waiter, Roman, was absolutely the most helpful and cordial you could imagine. Truly an overall gracious experience. We’ll definitely be back to the Grano de Oro at our first opportunity.

The Room with the patio was spacious. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very good, with good pressure and hot water. Breakfast was served from 7 am and everything was delicious. The Breakfast was served in a beautiful 'courtyard'. Room service was always delivered very quickly. Service was top-notch. As a Expedia Gold member I got a complimenary bottle of wine and a nicely stocked mini fridge with juice, sodas and snacks.
