The photos are false and outdated. The rooms are dirty and smell and the bed had hairs in it and holes in the blanket

Their website said there was parking, which there was not. The last morning I got a parking ticket while the desk clerk watched instead of contacting me to move my car.

We had the lowest price room so I'm sure it is not an example of the entire hotel, that being said it was a fine room for the rate. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, one of the best Tenderloins I have had in Costa Rica

A good hotel
The hotel was good and in a very good spot. There is NOT a free breakfast and NOT a free parking. You have to pay for your breakfast and pay to park your car.

I know this hotel and enjoyed it again, the only inconvenience is sitting right on the commuter rail line, I had a 6:30 am appointment so I knew that would not be a factor and the room rate was great

My reservation was missing when we arrived at hotel, frontdesk was saying they ar fully booked but hotel was have empty, finally they found room for as , it was really in bad shape.

Modest hotel. Clean overall. Not a family hotel. The amount of escorts at the place was outrageous. I was supposed to stay two nights and stayed one night. As a traveler I have never experienced that type of ambience at a hotel.

Nice comfortable place to stay. Laid back and relaxing. I will stay there again. A very economical shuttle service is provided to the Jaco area.

Just too boring
It was ok, trains runs right next to hotel. Three story, no elevator. The menu is pretty good if you do inclusive, bar is way small. Their sister hotel Castillo has a huge bar etc and you can eat and drink there as well if you stay at Amistad but nobody was there when I walked over one night. For the price I would stay at Sportsmen’s a block away with a full bar and restaurant, it has more to do if you don’t feel like leaving the hotel.

Es un hotel muy agradable.El trato personalizado y consideración fue lo más importante y que agradecí, ya que mi estadía ahí era para asistir al Hospital en horario de noche. La comprensión por la hora de llegada, el desayuno delicioso. Ambiente tranquilo y de mucho respeto. I want to share a wonderful experience with my stay at Hotel La Amistad. It was my first time staying there and I will for certain stay there again. The staff was very friendly and always greeted me by name. Everything was very clean. The food was outstanding for such a small hotel.

Old, expensive and poor service.
On check in I asked about the all-inclusive deal offered to cash customers, three times. The desk clerk was confused and never gave me an answer. He was too interested in selling me his artwork, ambushing me when I went to the desk to get my room key and shoving small pictures he had painted in my face. The room was horrible, broken toilet, smelled musty, needed updating and looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. This hotel is the same price as much nicer hotels in the area. The manager woke me up to ask me to come down and pay a restaurant and bar bill and wouldn't transfer it to the room bill despite having my credit card voucher. Who does that? All in all, a crappy place to stay. Do yourself a favor and pass on this hotel.

Please note that Expedia guests have the option upon booking to choose the all inclusive package or room only. In this case the guest booked room only and after dining and drinking in the restaurant decided he wanted to switch to the all inclusive package. Sorry we don't do this.

Amazingly helpful and kind! Great location!
This was a great place! The rooms were average, smaller, but the owner and front desk people were so incredibly helpful and kind. Breakfast was great, and the price was very good. It was in a great location. Cannot say enough how great of a stay this was.

Looking forward to next years vacation
We stayed 2 nights at La Amistad. The gentlemen at the check in were more than helpful and spoke " english" . The last night our room was unsatisfactory. (The shower did not drain; no shower mat was provided; and the soap dish was dirty; also a light was out above the bed) They offered a change of room; but we had just got in from Montverde at 6pm and we extremely tired. Just wanted to shower and eat dinner. The service and food in the dining area was very good and was a real treat to have breakfast included with the room. All in all...it was very pleasant.

An excellent deal in a fun city
Hotel Amistad is a large, charmingly elegant, boutiquesh hotel with reasonably priced accomodations. If you're a walker it is strategically located just a bit beyond the edge of the central city with some really good restaurants nearby not to mention the hotel's own restaurant. Taxi service is also easy. Yes, I can recommend La Amistad, no problem.
