GOOD BARGAIN BUT NOT FOR LONG STAY

AIRCONDITIONER IN ROOM ONLY AT ONE LEVEL AND VERY LOUD. TOILET DID NOT FLUSH PROPERLY. LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT AND STAFF PROVIDED EXTRA PILLOWS. THE PROPERTY WAS SUFFICIENT FOR THE PRICE AND ONLY ONE NIGHT.

As many have noted (but I apparently missed before booking this hotel), getting hot water isn't guaranteed. We had a pleasant check in, room was the exact type requested, then tried to shower because we were dirty from a day of ocean swimming and walking around in the sun. After waiting several minutes for the shower to warm up, we were told to wait "like half an hour". WOW! Okay, whatever it's their water, though our time was being wasted sitting around the room waiting for warm water. An HOUR passes, still no hot water. During that time we re-read reviews that confirmed getting hot water was a crap shoot. Ended up throwing away 1.5 freakin hours and finally just sucked it up and showered in the frigid water. Next morning: hot water was on, but two termite-looking bugs joined in for a warm shower too, and I noticed that the shower pan was leaking all over the floor. For the relative (in OSJ) price, they really need to get the plumbing up to par. While the front desk staff was very kind, and the location is great, the cold water and two bugs drops the review down to a 2/5 rating. The owners have frequently responded to poor reviews by basically saying, "Screw you, you should have known what you were getting.", but, even dingy hostels in former Soviet block states have warm water, for crying out loud.

This was a very old hotel in Old San Juan. We spent one night there before our cruise. It was exactly what we were looking for. While it was old, it was clean and the staff was very accommodating. It was right in the heart of Old San Juan within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and experience.

L'hotel est conforme a nos attentes. la chambre est propre. le monte charge est très lent. Comme c'Est situé sur une place, il y a plus de bruit toute la soirée jusqu'après minuit. malheureusement, nous étions sur place la nuit ou les vidangeurs passent ramasser les bacs vers 4 heures du matin et ils font beaucoup de bruit. le personnel de la ville ont aussi lavé le parc durant la nuit.

Great Location and Value with a few improvements

Hotel is in an amazing central location. Staff are courteous and accommodating the best they can be. Basic room amenities such as face towels, hand towels and ice were provided when requested as the staff could find them. Including such basic features in the room would improve the view of the hotel tremendously. Even with that, worth the stay for the price and location. Just bring some towels.

Not the Hilton but still good

Interesting stay. It's not the Hilton but rather a downtown Puerto Rico stay. There is an elevator but it will only hold 2 people and their 2 suit cases. The elevator is VERY slow, you can climb the stairs carrying your suitcase faster than the elevator can move. The female guest bathroom in the lobby was out of service and gave me the males bathroom key; no big deal at first until I went in and the toilet was clogged. When I reported it, the service rep said he was aware. I'm sorry, why did you give me the key in the first place?!? The room was quiet comical. We were laughing at the tiled floor, air conditioner at the ceiling and the very tight bathroom. I knew what I was booking because of the pictures, but we were laughing once we saw it. Our bathroom door would not shut and when you closed it as much as you can, with a 1 inch gap in the crack, it made a horrible squeaking sound to open it. They would not let us check in before 3pm on the dot. We arrived at 2:30pm and they made us sit in the lobby until 3pm. I get it, it's posted that check in is 3pm but that usually means it's when all the rooms are ready to be given away. I've never been denied check in 30 minutes early. Oh well, staff was nice, interesting experience, not the Hilton but I knew it was going to be different.

Somewhat disappointed

Various issues such as getting a third safe to find a working one, non-functional hair dryer, problem with toilet. Maybe still recovering from Hurricane Maria? Staff was helpful and cafe was good.

Disappointed

I paid for a suite with a balcony and was given a regular room with no balcony When i complained i was treated rudely and basically told too bad U get what u get Especially rudeccx was a young guy who wore his baseball cap backwards and kept saying is there somerhing wrong with your room other than being the wrong one I asked to speak to a manager and told that was not possible for two days We areccx almost seventy and treated very poorly

Egh...

The hotel was about as expected, old and quaint. The TV remote didn't work so we got only one channel....MTV. The shaver outlet in the bathroom didn't work so I shaved by the nightstand. The AC had two temperature settings: "on" and "off". On was loud and off was stuffy. The staff was first rate and resulted in an upgrade of my rating.

ロケーションは良いけど・・快適ではないです。

２泊しました。ロケーションは最高。ホテルの近くにレストラン、カフェ、スーパーマーケットなんでもありました。観光にも徒歩で行けました。 でもホテルのコンディションはよくないです。エレベーターは階段を歩くより遅いし、シャワーはお湯から水にすぐ変わってしまいます。 バルコニー付きの部屋にしたけどバルコニーの扉は壊れて開きませんでした。フロントに葉書を出して欲しいと頼んだら断わられました。

This place is all about location. My room had no window, yes no window at all! No hot water and the bath had two or three hairs that made it a bit more uncomfortable. It was cheap and the location was unbeatable. That's it. Will I stay there again? Well probably, if I get a deal as good as the one I got, yes. I wouldn't pay more than $110 per night though, and that's already a high price for this place.
