a great one night stay with a great host. Breakfast was wonderful and freshly prepared. The pool looked great although we didn't have time to enjoy it. Lovely room with balcony area. Secure parking. Would definitely stay here again

Very nice

Tranquil setting with a wonderful host who is exceptional with every detail. Best towels, soaps and t.p. of the trip, not to mention the fantastic breakfast. We certainly would stay there again. No AC, but evening cool was just fine.

Comfort, beauty, congeniality, food —all good

This lodge is secluded and charming. While we were the only guests during our stay, we could appreciate that even when full, the Lodge offers privacy. Stunning view, nice pool, great breakfast with a fruit plate featuring a wide variety of local fruit. Myriam and Didier are helpful and friendly hosts. This place is a keeper.

Great little lodge

Our short stay at the tiriguro was wonderful. The place was so beautiful perched up on the mountain, the pueblo below was lovely...a great costa rican adventure finding and staying here

Tiriguro Lodge es un pequeno hotel muy bonito en un lugar super tranquilo para relajarse. No lo disfrute tanto ya que iba de negocios, y de hecho no es tan adaptado para viajes de negocios porque la conexion internet no esta muy buena y casi no llega en las habitaciones. El trato de parte de la pareja de antifriones es perfecto y ofrecen un desayuno buenisimo con productos organicos etc.. Muy recomendable para viajeros!

Hospitality at its best

We had a fabulous stay; Didier and Miriam were extremely hospitable. The grounds were beautiful and we especially loved our homemade breakfasts in the morning with the homemade jams. We wished we could have bottled them and taken them with us. Our departure was very early in the morning on our last day and our hosts made us breakfast the night before and put it in our fridge! It left us with wonderful memories as we wound down our vacation.

Tropical surroundings

Beautiful grounds, lots of tropical plants. Owners very nice, helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and quiet. We would come back if in the area. Nice private pool area, surrounded by trails of tropical plants. Is not wheelchair friendly.

Une rencontre de haute qualite

Outre l accueil chaleureux de Didier et Myriam, l environnement et la qualite des echanges procurent un excellent bien etre. Proximite et discretion a la fois sont d une grande rarete. Le site est magnifique parfaitement integre a l environnement avec une vue magnifique. Prestations de tres bonnes qualite dans un cadre à dimension humaine. Petit dejeuner excellent, produits frais tres bien cuisines, confiture maison avec fruits du jardin...une adresse hautement recommandee.

Super acceuil et tres beau site !!!

Nous avons passe 1 nuit sur ce site tres sympa. Le jardin est tres bien entretenu, vous y dormirez tres bien et c'est tres calme. L'hotel est perche sur la montagne ce qui permet de beneficier d'une tres belle vue. Les proprietaires francais nous on tres bien accueillit, servit un delicieux ptit dej maison et nous ont meme recommande des super spots a visiter a l'abris des touristes. On recommande a fond !!!

Tiriguro is the place to go!

Along with meticulous care of their property, lovely owners Didier & Myriam took very special care of us. The breakfast was consistently a wide array of fresh fruits, juices, “Myriam-made” jams and toast. There was usually an additional delicious surprise - be it Myriam-made Brioche, French crepes, eggs or cheese. Didier’s advice for local details and recommendations was spot on. He also took the time to successfully solve a very difficult problem we had with our rental car company. I’m not sure what we’d have done without him for that! When I asked for an iron to press rumpled wedding attire, Myriam offered to and perfectly ironed the shirt. Such helpful service! Amongst the flowers, plantings and paths, the privately situated, spotlessly clean Carambola Cottage was “ours!” We had a comfortable sleep every night, coffee in our room in the morning, flower decorations from the yard. We could relax with a beverage or snack from our kitchenette on our covered porch day or night, rain or shine. The lovely clean pool is only a few steps away. Cooler, air on the mountain-top made for a pleasant location to return to after a day of touring. Speaking of touring, there were numerous things to do within an hour drive. Just ask Didier. You can also see plenty of Costa Rican flora and fauna right there: Toucans and other exotics put on a show for us at breakfast or poolside. GPS brought us directly from the airport to the Lodge in 45 minutes and we found the expected 1.5 mile local road

We'll be back on our next trip

Stayed on first and last nights of our 8 day trip. A little piece of paradise! Because of the elevation, thoughtful planning and landscaping, our hosts have turned this villa into a tropical paradise. Aside from not being right on the ocean and the fact that we wanted to explore more of Costa Rica on our first visit to CR, I would have been happy to have stayed here and relaxed for a week. An absolute gem, and defiantly budget friendly!

The most gracious hosts in such a serene setting

We arrived tired and worn from a much too long day of traveling. Didier and Miriam made sure we were comfortably and quickly settled into our immaculate room. We rested before bed in our jungle setting listening to the night animals. We awoke to the beauty and serenity of their home. We were pleasantly surprised at the loving care that they put into the breakfast that they presented to us on their veranda. While that alone would have been more than enough, Didier chatted with us in such a way we felt an immediate bond to him and his family and Costa Rica in general. While our first day of travels may have been trying our true trip and vacation began with their hospitality and continued until the moment we left the country. We hope you enjoy your stay equally as much. Pura Vida.

Great stop!

Loved this hidden jewel! It's out of the way but is perfect if you are traveling from Monteverde to the beach area. Very quiet and peaceful property and nice cabins. Owners are wonderful. But don't plan on coming early or leaving late. Very strict on that!

Helemaal oké.

Met sedan bereikbaar, maar liever 4-wheel drive. Beste hotel uit negen gebruikte hotels. Fantastisch ontbijt met homemade producten en lekker fruit. Houd je wel aan de inchecktijd. De staf heeft tijd nodig om je 110 % te ontvangen.
