We really enjoyed our stay at the Meson. The room was great and very well located. The staff was right there for anything we needed and Oscar is a wealth of information about the area. I will be back to this hotel when I travel to SMA.
Clean and curated property with quality furniture and details- very peaceful and well thought out service! They go above and beyond and put so much effort into a great space and stay for their guests. Best hotel of our whole trip.
Great view on the rooftop area. Short walk or uber to town square. Oscar was a great hotel host with great service and recommendations for San Miguel de Allende.

Very friendly and helpful service. The terrazza was fantastic with great views of the city.
This boutique hotel was just perfect for our stay. Eveything was within walking distance, rooms were so clean and comfortable. The owners were great hosts and the hospitality was over the top. We attended the Dia de los Muertos events over the weekend and the hotel was decorated for the celebration. We had an amazing time and stay. Would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it. Thank you Oscar for everything!
It’s a great property, well located, friendly people, various dining options nearby and the several ways to walk down to El Jardín are all beautiful and captivating. We will stay here again on our next visit to San Miguel de Allende. Thank you!
As other reviewers have noted, this hotel has a lot of interior stairs, and at times is plagued by traffic noise from the adjacent road. Both true.
The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. My room was compact, with a comfortable bed, good quality towels, and a relatively strong wifi connection.
There is a scenic lookout a few minute’s walk from the hotel, with an excellent view of the city. But to walk to the Centro be prepared to contend with steep cobblestone roads to/from this hotel. Downhill towards town. Uphill to return. A good workout if you’re inclined. Otherwise, taxis pass the hotel regularly, and Uber is available as well.
My major complaint was that the shower in my room did not work: no hot or cold water. I was offered the option to move to another room, but the prospect of re-packing, then lugging my belongings up a narrow metal spiral staircase to the upper level where the new room was situated, wasn’t appealing, as I was only staying for one more night. I decided to keep the original room, and to wash using the bathroom basin for water.
The property manager Oscar was so warm and helpful. My room was well stocked and maintained. The property is beautiful even though it wasn’t very “fancy.” The hotel is located uphill from Centro so it’s not an easy walk. But taxis and buses are readily available close by. I really enjoyed my stay.
Had a great time here. The owner/manager was fantastic. Lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Some of the stairs to the rooms are pretty steep so let them know if you have mobility issues. The hike down to the town is steep but there are lots of cabs to drive you back if necessary. San Miguel is very touristy but worth a visit if you are in Mexico.
Unfortunately I struggle to understand the excellent reviews on this place. I had really high hopes, after reading the fantastic reviews, but it definitely didn't live up to expectations.
The location was good, although uphill, and the staff were helpful but that's about it. The rooms were basic, no hairdryer or tea/coffee making as advertised. Bed was very hard and the shower took a long time to get hot. The place was also noisy with traffic and noise of other people talking.
My experience in this hotel was awesome, very nice and clean,Mr.Oscar was very friendly ,great coustomer service, he recommended a great small restaurant inside la marqueta for breakfast, housekeepers very nice as well . I’ll definitely rent this hotel in the future!
Thank you Mr . Oscar & staff
My husband & I appreciate you guys
