For work and my birthday, I booked a trip to Italy. It was my first time in the country. 17 hours and hauling my luggage to the resort in the rain, I was so happy to arrive to the hotel. Then it all goes left. FABIANO…the short male at the concierge desk is absolutely rude. After I was given the key to my room, I always do a security check with windows and doors especially b/c I’m a solo female traveler. The Juliette balcony door would not stay closed. I told the front desk. The maintenance man came. I didn’t feel comfortable and asked for a different room. They brought me to a room in what felt like a basement (from the window, I can see that we were below street level). I told FABIANO I didn’t like that room either. He got upset, raised his voice at me, berated me, and asked “what’s my problem?!” Keep in mind, I’ve only been there about 15 minutes at this point. I was in disbelief in how he spoke to me. I asked him why is he upset and getting loud with me. I told the manager Antonella (who is fantastic), and she asked him about his behavior and he said he never spoke to me in a raised voice or disrespectfully. He lied right in front of my face. He made my stay so uncomfortable, I would never return. I’ve never been treated so badly in all my years of traveling. Idk if he’s racist, misogynist, or just a terrible person, but if you’re a solo woman or a minority, take heed. Aside from that, Ants greeted me my first morning. Found blonde hair all over the white sheets.

The hotel is nice and in great location. Close to everything. Breakfast was ok and plenty. On a dowside the towels in our room were shabby. One has to pay 5€ to get a beach towel for the pool area. Chris & Chris from Toronto, Ontario September 23, 2020

The hotel has a great resort feeling to it. Good value for money. Breakfast was very basic for the reputation of a 4* hotel. It could have been much better. Pool area was good though.

An experience.....
Cannot say we had a good experience at the hotel. Our bed seemed broken so we had to cuddle ok one side, our balcony was shared with a staff break area and our stuff was moved around and covered in cigarette ashes. We didn't have hot water most of the time. But more importantly when this was all brought up to the hotel staff, nothing was done about it. Other guests seemed to be having a good experience, maybe we were just having bad luck.

Good for a short stay
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, mainly because they offered free parking and Sant'Agnello was easier to navigate with our giant luggage. The hotel is located about a 5 minute drive from sorrento, but they offer a free shuttle bus to get you there. The room was suitable, but slightly dated. There's no fridge, iron or kettle. The wifi offered was less than average. We were told it was only available in the pool & bar areas but in most cases it was only available at the bar downstairs (if it actually worked!). You're better off going to the cafe around the corner if you need decent wifi. The breakfast buffet consisted of bacon & eggs, myself, cereals and pastries. The hotel has a large pool, but most chairs are gone quite early as people claim them before the pool opens. Overall, we'd recommend if you're looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of most of the other locations on the amalfi coast.

Not What We Expected. Would NOT recommend.
We could not have been more disappointed. We were greeted by the hotel staff and lead to a room which did not fit the hotel photos or descriptions. It reeked of cheap cleaning product and we both got nauseous from the smell. The room felt dirty, uncomfortable and like the Shining. We had to leave and ended up booking a room at a different hotel.

The Perfect Hotel For Sorrento and Surrounding Are
I was in Sorrento 4 years earlier for a wedding at the Cocumella (10 minute walk away), and was thourghouly impressed / taken back by the Grand Hotel Parco Del Sole. The grounds are immaculate, the pool is a welcome bonus, the staff were incredibly friendly and by the 2nd day were treating us like we were family. It's nicely situated about a 20-minute walk outside of the main square and easily accessible to the Marina/Port & subway (take the Express train vs. the local option) if you're doing say trips to Capri or Pompeii. Great value for money and when we'd left we really wished we'd been able to afford more time here. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Sorrento in future if we're ever back in the region.

Great place to get away.
We truly enjoyed our 3-night stay at this hotel. It is very nicely maintained and all of the staff were great. The rooms are clean and fresh and we enjoyed having a patio. The breakfast buffet was very good. Choices of hot and cold items plus most any coffee drinks we wanted. We spent many hours relaxing around the pool area and every day we ate lunch at the pool side buffet restaurant. At 6:00 PM, when the temperatures wold start dropping, we would take their complimentary bus into the heart of Sorrento and spend the evening seeing the sights. They also offered a free return bus as late as 10:45 PM.

Nice and comfortable hotel. We had a great room with a beautiful view. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the wifi only works at the pool and the downstairs lobby area. That was disappointing after a long day of travel wanting to unwind in my room...I had to go elsewhere to get on wifi.

Nice for the price
First of all, don't follow the GPS for this address. The entrance is right off the main street, but the address isn't. We didn't know that and spent a while figuring that out. The location is great and free breakfast and free parking almost made the stay worth it from the start. Be warned however that the beds are very European... meaning stiff. Still, overall... very pleased.

We stayed here for one night after a wedding because we'd stayed 2 nights at Cocumella and needed a cheap alternative! The staff were great, pool was fantastic and room was large and clean. Nothing too fancy but just what we needed! Carpet in hallway was all rucked up on first floor on way to room and hallways could have done with a spruce up!

Great pool, great staff, worth a visit
We (myself, sister and mum) stayed at Grand Hotel Parco del Sole as a base with a pool while exploring Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, and it didn't disappoint - in particular, the pool is fantastic, with plenty of loungers and towels, and random sharing of ice cold watermelon... the hotel is a 20 minute walk from Sorrento but there's also a regular (if not greatly frequent - on the hour roughly) bus service, but it is also located very close to sant'agnello train station, which provides a service to pompeii, naples, into sorrento etc, so I wouldn't worry about the distance out of the city! The staff are very polite and helpful, especially the waiters at the buffet breakfast. Our only gripe was a slightly odd smell in our room, which didn't go away even when well ventilated, but we hardly spent any time in there anyway...in summary, the friendliness of the staff and quality of the poolside area mean I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel, and would also recommend Sorrento as a fine place to base yourself for exploring the wider region.

A good base to visit the local area.
We have stayed at the hotel several times, we find it to be a friendly hotel with helpful staff and will answer any questions asked. The pool area is recentely re-furbished and is a relaxing place to spend time. The bar staff are friendly , helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. This would also apply to the night porter, and the other staff, who speak good English as well as other laungauges. The decor of the hotel is of a tradtional style, it has alot of rooms but you are unaware of the amount of people staying there.Sorrento town center is about a 25 minute walk, but the hotel does provide a bus shuttle service. The station for the local tube like train is a 10 minute walk, this is in Sant Ag'nello, this train will go to Pompai and Naples. From this area you can access trips to Capri and the Amalfi coast. There are some bars, shops and resturants a short distance away, and within a 5 minute walk from the hotel you can visit The Tourist Bar, which is a family run cafe/bar which serves a range of food and drinks. This is a good hotel to base yourself to visit the many sights to see in this area, with a relaxing re-treat to return each night.

Great hotel, terrible service
We found a great rate for Parco del Sole through hotels.com but when we arrived, the receptionist told us he wouldnt let the room go for that cheap, it must have been a mistake. Being out of the country, we couldn't easily call hotels.com to see what happened, I only had the confirmation email. I had to text a friend back home to contact this site and they called the hotel manager to straighten things out. Additionally, other staff at the pool bar basically ignored me, even when I went up to get a towel or drinks they would assist other customers behind me first. Maybe it's because I am in my twenties, everyone else at the hotel was older. The rest of the hotel was great though, very clean and a nice pool.

Great hotel
We spent 3 nights at the hotel. It is a convenient hotel. Nice, clean and quite. The pool was great. Two minor issues: The room was a bit small for all of us (2 adults, 2 kids and a baby) and the frequency of shuttles to nearby Sorrento is very low. It is possible to walk to Sorrento if the weather permits (about 15m walk). Overall, a great experience.

It was OK. You get what you pay for.
Overall I had a nice stay but in the entire 6 nights, our bedding wasn't changed at all. The air conditioning was noisy, so overnight there were 2 options - swelter in the heat or put up with the noise. The food was terrible and the staff seemed personally offended when we had tried the stale, murky coffee they'd brought us and asked for tea instead. I left my car keys at reception desk at check in, and 2 days into our holiday when we needed the car, the concierge denied he had the keys to my car. It took 2 mornings and 2 visits to reception desk for someone else to interrupt - and find them! They ended up being misplaced in another room's cubby hole. I understand mistakes happen and don't mind that they were misplaced, however his attitude that I "definitely did not leave them with him" and his arrogance and complete refusal to help me, or even LOOK, does bother me. On the positive note, the hotel was clean, the poolside was lovely, the location was good and it was a quiet, relaxing place to stay in. It was a charming old hotel with almost retro decor that has been well maintained, the other holiday goers were really happy and friendly and the hotel was also very affordable. Overall I did enjoy my stay, but the little things I've mentioned above means I won't be recommending this hotel.

The hotel was extremely good value for what we paid. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the waiters. We were half board and the food was very good, particularly in the evening and on gala night. Nice pool area. Location a bit out of Sorrento, but given access to free hotel transfer, local buses and train station for very close then this was no problem for our party of 9.

This was my second time to stay at Grand Hotel Parco del Sole and it was perfect in every way (as was the last) - I will return there within the next few months. Most friendly hotel I have ever stayed in, staff wonderful nothing was too much trouble. Although we were bed & breakfast we ate in the restuarant one evenig and by the pool bar both very good value for money. The hotel has a lived in feel but is very clean and has a certain charm about it. Even though the location is a little way out from Sorrento it is still one that I would be happy to reccomend. Station is just a 5 min walk away and there is a shuttle bus from the hotel. There is a great wine bar in the centre of town near the church sorry can't think of the name, if you are eating out then sorrento is best place. Dont miss going over to Capri. Enjoy

Initial impressions were good, nice entrance and drive with fountain (only saw it working once all week). We were given a room overlooking a bar, the road and petrol stations, then had to wait until the next morning to change rooms after a noisy and poor nights sleep. They claim this room was "sort after" they were welcome to it.........we were then given a room overlooking the pool which was quieter. Generally the hotel is tired and probably not suited to younger people or just don't expect mod cons. No papers etc, room tv reception terrible, we didn't use the facilities, oh yes there were none, the pool was clean but again tired looking. Breakfast was ok but got boring after a few days. We did not eat at the hotel, there are some good places within a stroll and reasonable too, pizza shop on main road behind Tonys bar and the jolly blu bar. A good 20 mins walk from sorrento but there was a courtesy bus that ran at various times. Heard that there is to be a makeover coming up but at this cost you could do better.

Thoroughly disappointed.
Hotel is thoroughly average. Not your usual 4* Hotel. Breakfast is a strange affair, not much to fill you up. Some mornings we debated skipping it altogether. The pool area is nice however the water was very very cold, at times too cold to stay in there for more than 30 seconds. The staff however were all very helpful and friendly. Sant'agnello is extremely busy, with the hotel being situated just off the main access route to Sorrento. A dangerous 15 minute walk will get you to Sorrento if you want to risk your life. The shuttle bus provided by the hotel runs at irregular times and is very very busy on its return from Sorrento. We often walked to Sant'agnello train station to get to and from Sorrento. The hotel is an ideal base to explore Pompei, Capri and Vesuvius. Again easy access via the 'Circumvesuviana' trains that run frequently. Sorrento is very very very busy, it's not for people looking to have a relaxing hoilday. It felt more like a city break. We will not be returning to this part of Italy.

Grand Hotel Parco del Sole - Review
Hotel is set back from the main road, so it's relativley quiet. Beautiful Pool area with deep water (not heated!) and nice bar and food area. Bar food was cheaply priced and prices clearly displayed for food, but not so for beer. Our Room was a dissapointment, no balcony, tiny TV (with only 1 English TV Channel), and the style of the room was quite old, we also had ants in the bathroom!. And worse of all they had no iron or ironing board, which I find unbelievable for a 4 star hotel, but this seems to be the norm for Italian hotels. The complex was nice and reasonably priced, situated close to the local train station, handy for direct access to Pompeii & Naples and only 1 train stop from Sorrento. Overall I would consider staying in the hotel again, if we got a better quality room.

Not bad for the price.
Hotel was ok. 15 minute walk to downtown Sorrento. Reasonable price. Room was clean. Shower head in the middle of the tub caused water to go everywhere since there was no shower curtain and only had a small glass door. Very few English channels on TV. Breakfast had good selection. Internet was free in the lobby area. Pool closes at 7pm which is very early and should be open later for when you get back from downtown. Free parking.

We were disappointed by this hotel becasue of its location to the main tourist attractions. The site misleads you to believe it's in Sorrento but its actualy in a community on the outscurts of town. As a result, the shuttle which came too infrequently and at inconvenient times, was useless to us. The cab fair with a menial tip, was always 20 Euros for the short distance. The hotel has a very dated Cuban feel to it and was the only hotel we experienced during our trip to have carpeting. This made the musty smell more noticeable. Hallways were narrow and twisting making it difficult to get our luggage to our rooms. We booked two rooms and ended up on opposite sides of the hotel which made our single party feel isolated. Overall, the hotel was just "okay".

Great place to relax after a busy week exploring Rome. Hotel shuttle bus was great for getting in and out of Sorrento and also bus stop just outside hotel. Lovely pool plus bar area for getting drinks and lunches. We arrived early but were allowed to store our luggage and use the pool for a couple of hours which was most welcome. Really miss it now back in chilly UK. Turn right out of hotel then first left and keep walking gets you to the coast where there is a lovely bar/restaurant. Glass of wine whilst watching sun set over Capri - lovely. Walk into Sorrento this way too, less than a mile I think.

I stayed at this hotel in 2009, and really enjoyed my stay so I decided to return in July 2010. The experience did not disappoint me. I booked on expedia and asked the hotel direct how much it would cost for me to upgrade my room. They did that for free, so I had a lovely room with a balcony. I ate dinnner in the restaurant which was excellent, and good value. I will visit again in 2011.

All hotel staff particularly at reception were extremely helpful. Hotel is well placed in St Agnello, room was spacious for the three of us with no noise from outside. Pool was clean with lovely bar area and good food at a reasonable price. Breakfast was very good continental style with excellent staff. St Agnello has many good restaurants within 15-20 mins walk, Peppino's being extremely good. Coppano, Moonlight and Caio Toto also good. Bars at the square friendly, The Terrrace Restaurant and Bar good for a drink with clifftop view of Sorrento. 10 mins walk to Circumvesuviana to get trains to Ercolano, Pompeii and Naples at good prices with frequent service. Positano well worth a visit, used local bus but had no aircon so was very hot. Hotel provides free shuttle bus to Sorrento each morning and evening, it takes 20-30 minutes to walk at a leisurely pace, roads can be busy taxi's are expensive 15 euro from town to the hotel. Train to Sorrento every 30 mins for 1 euro 10 cents. Overall a great holiday Sorrento is lovely and St Agnello is fine for a drink and good for food if you walk about a bit. I would not visit Naples again a bit too gritty!! I booked this hotel myself, not as a package for three of us and would definately use this hotel again. Only minor complaint was occasional lack of good cold water pressure in room 39.
