Business trip

Lovely hotel, always use the Gumuya Tower when staying in Semerang, good location, nice rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, gym and a pool. If you can get an upgrade to the executive floor you can use the facilities on floor 16 & 17 for free.

Bad experience in the hotel

I made a reservation for non smoking room through Hotels.com however when I checked it, the clerk said it cannot be guaranteed by Hotels.com. And she said that to use non smoking room, I had to upgrade to club room. So I had to upgrade it on site with paying 150usd. But non smoking club room also stinks with smoking smell. What's worse is hotel is not releasing my deposit even though I paid all in my debit card. I tried to contact the official number but the operator told me to wait and never connected. Cannot believe this hotel is five stars.

The carpet in the corridor is fairly dirty. It needs a thorough shampooing. Room cleanliness is very good and quite spacious.

Staff can accommodate early check-in, staff very knowledgeable on places of interest,shopping, All staff (Reception, coffee house,housekeeping,bellboy) very attentive and courteous. The only disadvantage is hotel is undergoing renovation at lobby/lounge area. & the works is very noisy/unbearable during our stint at the coffee lounge But will stay again if I come to Semarang.
