"I loved the onsite Onsen and style of traditional Japanese hotel rooms. The staff was very nice and helpful! Amenities were great! Beautiful hotel room view!
The only downside is that the hotel is located on the outskirts of Nagano, so plan ahead as it’s not easy to reach via walking. Shuttle buses are readily available however to help get around."
"Everything was fine. Included breakfast was excellent. We loved the auto rice dispenser. They even had nice to go containers and bags at breakfast. It is a traditional breakfast buffet. The location was very convenient to train station, restaurants, Don Quiote...lol. Room was quiet and very clean. The only thing we didn't like was that we reserved for four people, one of which included a child, but they only had 3 sets of towels. They gave us two extra complimentary pillows but would not give us additional towels without playing a fee. Disappointing for sure."
"From the moment we entered we felt honored and welcomed. The rooms were spacious (if you’ve traveled in Japan you know the rooms are usually small - I’m 6’2” and I felt comfortable and I could even do stretches on the rattan floor.) Great views from windows that open. We opted for breakfast and dinner included. Deeeellicious! -oishii desu! No 2 multi-course meals were the same, other than they were unique and filling! We did not have to get any other meals while in Matsumoto. There are 3 well- equipped onsen with multiple pools of varying temperatures. One onsen was men-only, the second women-only and the third was mixed gender, so my girlfriend and I could relax together. It’s a short walk and quick bus ride to city center. We went for a hike/walk up the hill and saw a firefly-breeding project with a few fireflies! Water available in the lobby. On Sunday night, we were greeted with a youth group randomly playing drums at the local park next door. It was entertaining local culture. Any requests, like ice, was accommodated immediately. We are older, seasoned travelers and this was one of the best expenses we've ever had. HIGHLY RECOMMEND."
"Stayed here one night on the way up the Alpine route. Everything was just perfect here, from the excellent breakfast spread, onsen facilities, the wellkept grounds to the warm hospitable service at the front desk. Wish I’d spent a few more days here to relax."
