"If you haven't stayed in a European-style budget hotel before, be aware. This is not a traditional large American-style hotel with lots of storage and furniture. The sink is in the bedroom. there is a small shelf and hanging clothes nook and the bed takes up literally the rest of the room. A small shower and the toilet are in a small area behind frosted glass.
The bed is pretty comfortable and the hotel is fine. It tries too hard to be "hip" or whatever, but that's marginally pointless. Having all the controls to the room TV, thermostat, curtains, etc., all on an ipad is pretty nice.
The area is outside the convention center/basketball arena part of downtown LA but is very walkable to bars and restaurants. There is also substantial transit in the area, both light rail and various buses.
All in all, for the price, it is a place to stay if you aren't going to be in the hotel very much. Good for sleeping and that's about it."
