We stayed in Singapore for 1 night as a layover for 24 hours on our flight to Krabi Thailand. Even though the price can be high here, the hotel is very clean, modernized and has an excellent breakfast with a lot of variety and good food and drinks. Can’t beat the breakfast quality, excellent. Didn’t have much to complain about the hotel, except it being kind of far from the sights we wanted to see like the Marina bay sands hotel and bay gardens. Otherwise clean, comfortable, big rooms with big beds and restrooms. Excellent hotel. Didn’t stay long enough to see how friendly the staff were, but they seemed friendly and pleasant enough.

The hotel was a very convenient walk to Orchard Blvd, which allowed you access to buses and trains. The rooms were a comfortable size for our family of 4. It had a delicious buffet style breakfast with offered lots of options for tastes. The restaurant also opened for other dining as well.

Room and facilities were generally quite good, but breakfast was hopeless. It was generally disorganised and poorly managed. The coffee situation (SLOW machines and long queues) was poor, but the kicker was the STUPID system of paying for breakfast each morning rather than booking it to your room (which you can do in EVERY other hotel I've stayed in). It made for a particularly embarrassing situation on our final morning when a waitress chased our family (at high volume) out of the restaurant, thinking we hadn't paid, when we had. So embarrassing and so avoidable... Thanks but no thanks.

York hotel is a bit older but the convenience of the location and the size of the rooms more than makes up for the tired fittings. With 2 entrances onto Mount Elizabeth and Scott Streets, it is a quick walk to Orchard and Newton train stations and to Orchard road for food and shopping. We had a family room that slept 4 and it was more than big enough for 2 adults and 2 teenage kids. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've ever slept on!

Perfect Place in Singapore

Super spacious and clean room! Loved the water filter that makes hot or cold water to save plastic bottles. Quick walk to a nice mall for restaurants and a grocery store. Really enjoyed our stay.
