“Our hostess, Sophie has been excellent with local places of interest including some local restaurants.
Our “villa” was very comfortable and fresh with a queen sized bed.
Our stay was made very enjoyable, even the local patisserie/boulangerie were welcoming.
We even bought some of Sophie’s porcelain ”

“Hotel Recour was without a doubt the best place we stayed the entire time we were in Europe. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly, the prices were very reasonable, breakfast was a wonderful spread and the location cannot be beat. And that's not even mentioning the absolutely beautiful room with a large bath that was very welcome after the trek out to Poperinge!”
“Can’t begin to describe what a great stay this is. A real experience, if you are doing the battlefields, then staying or visiting here is a must. Comfy beds, great facilities and good breakfast. Loft chapel is probably the nicest chapel or church I have ever seen mainly because of the emotion involved. Thoroughly recommend. ”
“Hotel de la Paix is a wonderful property, each of our rooms had some outdoor space and were brilliantly designed. Right in the center of town and the staff/family is very accommodating. If you are visiting Poperinge (and you should) this is the place to stay.”

“The apt. was spacious and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. Lovely hosts and the property location was close to the WW1 battlefield sites and memorials. ”
“Basic maar prima daar is de prijs ook na. Gewoon een goed bed, douche toilet, tvtje en schoon. Personeel is ook erg vriendelijk en je voelt je welkom. Ontbijtje ook prima alles wat je nodig heb. Vanuit hier kan je makkelijk na de snelweg uitjes na Calais of andere plaatsen.”
“ I stayed here with my teenage sons, the hotel was easy to reach by car and there was parking on site.
The hotel was quiet and safe, staff were very pleasant and customer focused. Beds were very comfortable, we had a great walk around the lake that was behind the property. Rooms very clean and welcoming.
Was easy to reach the War memorial from the hotel.
Would stay here again and would recommend it.”
