This is a quiet property in a good location for walking around town. Jessica at check in was very nice , helpful and informative. The restaurant there was good and the Fish Hook next door was also very good. The hotel is partially built on cement posts over the water so it is nice to sit on the deck and enjoy the view and watch the fishing boats come and go.

Property was great, overlooking the marina. We stayed in the suite, and had a private deck over the water. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was super attentive and made the stay very enjoyable. As others noted, it is a long walk to town. But, taxis are everywhere and there is plenty of parking in town if you have a car.

Stay in the suite so that you get (the only) view of the bay. The room was clean, working AC, lots of room to spread out, and access to a nice deck. Staff were friendly, though caution: laundry is $8 per bag, so even if you have tiny bags that altogether would make up just one load of laundry, you could end up paying $$$. We ate at the nearby restaurant Mar y Arena (twice!) and loved it so much. We also booked a dolphin/snorkel tour that easily picked us up at the hotel's own boat dock.

The staff was super friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. We fished two days with a guide recommended by Banana bay staff. We caught a ton of fish and brought them back to be cooked in a variety of different ways. The locals are friendly the staff s friendly. We will be back soon

The hotel is located right in front of major highway, yet very quiet. The minus were the beds, they need to be replace. The service was one of the best that I have experienced in Costa Rica.

We enjoy fishing and the location is excellent. Part of the property was under construction but it was not a problem at all.

I fish from this Marina and this Hotel provides all the amenities that I need. Right on the water, small, the restaurant is on the pier, watch the sunset or get up early and watch the sunrise to a good cup of coffee!! I love it!

Value for money.
Good, clean location overlooking the bay. Friendly staff and decent restaurant. The only downside was the beds were a bit hard and the pillows were not the greatest quality. Very reasonable rate so good value for money.

Pleasant stay
There is no beaches in a close proximity to that mini-hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were large and clean. Small parking lot.

Nice Hotel over the water
The hotel has nice rooms on a wharf over the calm water of the harbour at Golfito, Costa Rica. Rooms are on the ground level, as is the bar and restaurant - no stairs. Staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant food is very good and fairly priced. Free parking between the hotel and street. It has easy access to drive into town, or when leaving Golfito. Well recommended.

We will be back again.
Someone had told us that this was a nice place to stay but that was an understatement. We stayed in the suite and it was much better than most Costa Rican hotel rooms. Everything was provided. There is a patio/deck right off the room with 3 rocking chairs and a hammock. Sunset from the 3 large windows and the deck was breathtaking. The bar/restaurant was very reasonable and good food. You also sat on a deck for the marina. Everyone was extremely friendly. Our only disappointment was from EXPEDIA. Expedia overcharged me $35.00 for the going rate for the room. When I went back to Expedia 2 days later when getting back to our computer, they notified me that, Yes, they had overcharged us and asked us to send in a copy of our receipt. We did that almost immediately. We had made the reservation Travelocity the morning of our stay because we could not get in touch with anyone at the hotel because they were cleaning rooms and waiting on their guests. We made the reservation about 7:30am the day of our stay and then set out on the 200 mile drive to the Golfito from the central valley town of Atenas. When we checked in 6 hours later we found out we were over charged $35.00 by Expedia. When we got back to the central valley a day later, we contacted Expedia and they agreed we overpaid. They asked for our receipt. After we sent them all the info they required, they told us we had to notify them 72 hours before we check in or 66 hours before we made the reservation?????

WILL STAY AGAIN
Nothing fancy here ( but neither is Golfito! ) but that place is right on the water with their own restaurant and dock. Great views and always something going on. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms clean and well equipped with wifi,coffee maker, fridge, good shower and OK bed.

Small hotel, 4 rooms, built on pilings on a whart
The restaurant and bar were good, although bar tender experience in mixed drinks is limited. Charges can be made to the room if arrange on check in. All staff were friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant is open air overlooking boats tied to the dock the hotel is on and the bay. We enjoyed it very much and will stay there again.

Overlooking the Bay and not bad location
It was a family vacation travelling with my infant son. We enjoyed this laid back place a lot. The restaurant was right there and it was rather easy when you don't want to lave the hotel. Specially when it was raining.

A Hidden Gem
First night in Costa Rica in a hotel with working Air Conditioning! Staff was friendly and spoke English well. I about cried when I saw an ice bucket in the room along with a mini-fridge! Shower was huge and actually had hot water. Breakfast was excellent and was served TiCo style. I only have some minor complaints. The bed was a little uncomfortable but the ability to lower the sleeping temperature to tolerable more than made up for this. The hotel, also, is not well marked we drove right by it since it just looked like another restaurant. There's only one road into Golfito so we stopped and called. I would try to get a Google Street view before staying there. Parking is also an issue - not uncommon in Costa Rica - and all the slots were already taken by restaurant guests. Overall, this hotel is exceptional and I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to the area.

Nice stay for one night. Room was clean and spacious. Awesome rocking chairs overlooking bay, enjoying coffee in the morning. Cindy in office great helo in finding a taxi driver for the afternoon. Had an awesome sea turtle drop by in the morning while we ate breakfast in restaurant. Priceless....

What a treat!
Beautiful room right on the bay, complete with rocking chairs on the porch. Great restaurant and bar. The AC was on when we arrived, a real surprise in CR. Cindy at the front desk is so helpful and gracious. Jarvi (SP) is our new best friend and bar tender! A needed break. We will be back in August! Thank you for your hospitality!
