Fantastic location but falls short of 5-star standards-Lacks attention
We left Days at the Sea Lodge with mixed feelings and rate our stay 3 out of 5 stars.
What we loved:
• Fantastic location: The lodge is situated right on a beautiful beach. The setting is absolutely stunning.
• Very spacious rooms: Our room offered an incredible amount of space.
• Super friendly staff: The team on-site was extremely nice and always very helpful.
The "But" – Why it doesn’t live up to 5 stars:
For a 5-star property, our expectations were understandably high. Unfortunately, the lodge falls short in many areas because it simply lacks attention to detail. You can really feel that the owner is not on-site to oversee operations.
• Lack of room service: Daily emptying of waste bins and regular towel changes should be standard in this category, but both were missing. There wasn’t even a simple water glass in our room.
• Poor restaurant communication: The lodge advertises that food is offered at the in-house restaurant. However, there information about this was completely lacking on-site, and no menu was provided.
• Maintenance issues: Some areas are in urgent need of renovation. For a luxury accommodation, the property does not feel properly maintained in these spots.
Conclusion:
The foundation (location, room size, and staff) is excellent. However, the management neglects the finer details and services that define a true 5-star experience. It is a pity, as a lot of potential is being wasted here.
