Our stay at Royalton Chic Antigua included some positive aspects, but overall, the experience did not reflect the value of what we paid.
Check-In: The check-in process was unusually slow. Despite paying for premium accommodations, we waited in the lobby for several hours before receiving our rooms. While the staff provided welcome drinks and checked in on us during that time, the delay was excessive for a resort in this price range.
Room Access: On the day of checkout, our wristbands were deactivated before the 12 PM checkout time. We returned from the pool at 11:30 AM and were unable to access our rooms. It took multiple trips to the front desk to resolve the issue, which was inconvenient.
Housekeeping: Housekeeping services were minimal. Over the course of three days, the sheets appeared not to be changed—only the bed remade. This fell short of standard expectations for a high-cost resort.
Dining: The food was underwhelming. One evening, the Haven Grill ran out of food. Breakfast mainly consisted of continental items and pork, with turkey bacon available only by request and not prepared in advance, which led to long wait times.
Drinks: The drink service was the most consistent part of the stay and met expectations.
Diamond Club: Several members of our group had Diamond Club access, but the upgrade did not deliver the promised experience. Communication around included services and vouchers was unclear, and butler support was unreliable.
