I booked spa treatments for me and my mother online, my mother's was 30 minutes and mine was 25. Once I booked the one thing I did not like was I got NO receipt to my email. I only knew the prices on the website which was 95 and 75. Thus, my total to MY knowledge was $170 and maybe some tax. I got emails reminding me of my appointment and I read ALL the fine print which told me the charges that would have been charged IF we canceled the appointment the day of. There was NO mention of a "service" charge or "gratuity".ย Once we left the resort I got a call saying my card declined a transaction for $222, I was in shock because it was $52 more than anticipated.ย I was told $40 for "gratuity" and the rest was a "service charge". I tried to explain to the salon people that I had no idea that I would be charged those.
I only had $185 in my card. I kept trying to get the spa ย to understand that I could not pay the new price because I was unaware beforehand. Also, gratuity is optional.ย I kept getting calls repeatedly from different people at the salon trying to force me to pay the rest when I kept telling them "How could I pay for something that I had no knowledge about".ย To this day I paid my $170 but they are still trying to charge me for the extra. ย I am super disappointed. I am a content creator, I was ready to recommend the Westin on my social media but after this spa visit I take back anything good I said. I told them, "I will pay if I need to but I will never return".
