Staff was very kind. Upon arrival, there was no power. After waiting an hour the power was on the duration of my stay. There are some improvements needed on the grounds. It seems to be very outdated and old. Overall, I had a decent stay, and the view was spectacular.
Room was clean, the ladies Faye and Deb were very helpful with all of our questions and needs, the housekeeping staff was also very helpful when asked for more towels. The staff had no problem with our son whom we were visiting coming over and swimming with us.
Deb was excellent at making me feel welcomed and the room was great AC was great room was clean. The bed was very comfy the sheets were so soft. There are 2 water bottles in the fridge already which was a nice touch. I had the deluxe apartment and the view was amazing. And there’s a great steakhouse right above the hill that you can walk too.
Staff were courteous and helpful. Accommodations were neat and clean. I used the cottages for a temporary stay while attempting to locate a long-term rental. Cottages are a little removed from everything, but the price was right and the stay helped me rent my place while getting acclimated to the island. No complaints.

First off, Deb is really nice. The view is absolutely stunning on the balcony.
Hiowever there are mold spores all over the ceiling in the bathroom.
The mattress topper had bad rips was very dingy and had black stains on it. We used o blow up mattress and did not sleep on the bed
The tv didn’t connect to the internet at all.
There were several small ants crawling everywhere.
The screen door to the balcony doesn’t close properly to keep bugs out.
Considering the view is incredible and the place was inexpensive it was doable. But the mattress and bedding needs to be replaced and the mold situation in the bathroom needs to be cleaned.
Just stayed for a night due to an aircraft mechanical issue preventing us from leaving as scheduled. Wonderful stay with quite a view! I'd want to have a car when staying here so I could maximize what I could see or do since the cabs are astronomical here. I will definitely consider staying here when we return.

Nice value, nice views of city and water below. Spacious room. Good bed and bathroom. nice kitchenette. Hotel was a bit hard to find using GPS. Only a handful of parking spaces in a tight area.
The property was very clean and neat everything about the property was wonderful, but it is on top of the mountain. That’s the only bad thing. Lol

Sunset Gardens was nice enough and I would stay there again, but it was not 5 star accommodations. If you stay at a fancy resort I am guessing you will not experience the idiosyncrasies of island life. We stayed 2 nights and really only slept and showered. The rest of the time we were out exploring. We did have a rental car and never had an issue with parking but it is limited (8 spaces approximately) and I think we were told there were 17 rooms total. I had trouble keeping a consistent water temp in the shower, but my wife had no issues. The island is currently experiencing rolling black outs and you will lose water if the power goes out. There was no backup generator for our unit. We stayed in another AirBnB earlier in the week and I got caught in the shower all soapy with no water. I used a gallon jug of drinking water to rinse off. We never lost power while at Sunset Gardens. A/C worked well. Large spacious room with a balcony with a pretty amazing view of the ocean. It is close to the airport, about 3/4 of a mile up Crown Mountain Road. Finding someone in the office can be tricky so pay attention to their office hours. We were careful to arrive during hours so no issues, but could not find anyone at checkout (10am) so left the key (a real key) on the desk. There are chickens everywhere on the island and you will be awakened by roasters! For the price it was worth what we got and like I said, we would stay again! Thank you Sunset Gardens!
Air conditioning was good. Room had a full kitchen which was great. The view from the top where it was located was beautiful over looking the anchorage while sitting out on the deck.
