This is a "revenge" review. All rooms were sold out and blocked out for Bequia Music Fest, a major local event, but somehow you managed to make a booking with Expedia. We immediately contacted you can advised you that we only had one single room, that had just cancelled, which you gladly accepted. The exact size and nature of the room was fully explained to you in advance and you happily accepted it.On arrival, despite being told that none were available, you still insisted that you should have a King size room. You were observed to be in a bad mood towards the hotel. You approached several other guests to try and find out when those in king size rooms were leaving. We discounted the room rate for your inconvenience and refunded you in CASH.We do not have any "basement" in our hotel. No such thing exists in Bequia. Your room had two single bed which can also be converted to a queen bed. The room has it's own balcony with a great sea view.To suggest that the room was "filled" with bugs is absolutely false. We do live on a Tropical Island and share it with many other creatures. There is no possible way to keep every insect out of a room but our rooms are clean and well kept.You decided to leave to seek alternative, larger accommodation and not due to the factors that you mention in your review.Our hotel did not "break your plans." Basically you were disappointed because your preferred booking was not available and you chose to turn to the review process to exact your revenge.

We enjoyed having you both stay with us. Our location affords you the peace and quiet with warm tropical breezes that guests desire while being only a few minutes from everything. The island is only 5 miles long after all so nothing is too far away. Thank you for choosing Spring Hotel Bequia and we hope that you will think of us again if your travels bring you back to the Grenadines.

Our free shuttle service makes the 6 minute ride from the harbour both easy and affordable. This allows you to have the best of both worlds - an amazing place and easy access to the whole island. Please come back again soon.

I am glad that you enjoyed your first stay with us. I also understand that you were somewhat upset that the exact same room was not available for the single night of your second stay. I feel that this may have colored your overall attitude towards some minor inconveniences. As there were two groups in your party, who both wanted king size beds, we offered you large adjoining suite with garden views. Like any hotel, we cannot guarantee specific rooms and our policy is to assign the best available suite in your price/bed size choice. The other guests arrived before you, were staying several nights, and apart from turfing them out to accommodate you, I am not sure what else we could have done. All our rooms have views and I am not aware of any other problems. I am glad that it would out in the final assessment. As you say, Vanda, our chef is a gem. We are happy to have her on our staff.

Thank you for your kind review. During your stay the cable TV was out all over the island - unfortunately a not uncommon occurrence but completely beyond our control. Sugar Reef is a nearby restaurant not affiliated with our hotel but we do offer full restaurant and bar services at reasonable and competitive prices so that certainly could have been a option. We hope that you will come back soon and sample some of our fine chef, Vanda's, cooking. All the best and safe travels.

Most find that this is a welcome retreat from the noisy town where music and revelry can go on into the wee hours. All this and only a 6 minute drive to the center of everything.
