"The first room smelled like sewage sadly, I reported it and the front staff promptly put me in the new room and it was nice and clean, no issues- I’m suspecting some old pipes maybe? But other than that, I really appreciated their hearty breakfast menu option you can add, they seemed more thoughtfully prepared than what you would expect from breakfast buffet- Staffs are cordial, nice and helpful :)) The big bath area is a very nice addition - I do wish it smelled more like Hinoki and wondered...

"The first room smelled like sewage sadly, I reported it and the front staff promptly put me in the new room and it was nice and clean, no issues- I’m suspecting some old pipes maybe? "The bed was was so hard I couldn’t believe how stiff it was I think a futon would’ve been better. Out of all the hotels I have been to this is the only one that doesn’t hold on to your luggage as complementary you have to use a storage locker so I waited to check in. The hot spring was nice and is next to a plaza with some really good eats. "

"Great hotel and staff. Location was fine. Only reason for the low review is the instructions/policies stated for the guest bath include provisions for small tattoos so long as they are covered by the property-provided cover-up sticker. When we arrived, the policy was 'guests with tattoo's are not permitted'. Not too big of an issue, but my wife, with two small tattoos was excited to try the bath as it was her first time in Japan and was unable to enter. Please ensure posted policies like this are consistent for future guests."

"An excellent hotel a few minutes walk from Seibu-Chichibu station which has both train and bus connections. Lots of dining and shopping options around including at the station itself. Easy walk to main areas including Chichibu Shrine. Ohanabatake station is also very near to visit other places such as Nagatoro. 7-Eleven and Family Mart close to hotel. Staff very helpful, rooms clean and good breakfast selection. Would definitely recommend."
