Charming
Overall a charming and very welcoming little hotel. The breakfast was a simple but adequate one. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room was a bit unusual. Wi-Fi was very poor. Shower room was basic. That’s the main negatives dealt with. Overall, it’s a beautiful old building which is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ortigia. Everything is within easy walking distance (if you don’t lose your bearings!!) and given its rating as a three star hotel, it’s fair value for money. I expect we will return to Ortigia sometime and would be quite happy to make Hotel Gargallo our base once again.

Great location in the middle of Ortigia Island, but a little hard to find at first because the streets are confusing. You can drive right up to the entrance and drop your bags, even though it doesn’t look like a real street, then park in the lot for 15 euros per 24 hours. The ticket machine is old and hard to figure out….exact amount in cash only! The hotel staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful. Our superior room was on the ground floor, clean, and fairly spacious. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night. Furniture is a little run down and probably should be replaced, or is just the end of the season? Bath towels are great. Breakfast was typical with lots of choices, with great espresso made to order. Hard boiled eggs should have been fresher. We recommend this hotel.

The location was very good and the staff was helpful. Our ground-floor room had a nice little courtyard. Unfortunately, the shower was very slippery and had mold in the grout. I don't think the floors were swept while we were there; probably something that should be done when guests are out walking the town every day. We didn't get to see the rooms in the main part of the hotel, so can't comment on them.

It was perfect for us. We were close to the beach and they had a free shuttle to the Valley of the Temples. The parking was very easy also.

A great location with shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance. This location is close to a grocery store. The room was comfortable and the hotel staff was very helpful.

Sono rimasta alquanto delusa dell'hotel: un palazzo antico a mio avviso non significa odore di muffa da non poter dormire, scarsa pulizia e mancanza di attenzione dei particolari. Colazione deludente ,non si può servire la stessa torta alla panna per 3 giorni.Valentina e Denise sono gentili , disponibili, ma forse è la gestione ( non da parte loro ) che va rivista, bisogna investire qualcosa e migliorare. In un hotel non esiste che la reception chiude alle 19, allora chiamiamolo b&b e abbassiamo i prezzi.Non c'è un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo,l'unica cosa positiva è la posizione.Lo posso consigliare solo per questo ,per il resto assolutamente no

Located in a very good position you can walk easily all around Ortigia. The staff is wonderful, all the ladies are kind and helpful 😊 Breakfast is rich with a few Sicilian products too. The rooms are clean and spacious in a perfect Italian style! I will definitely come back.

Struttura bellissima, ben tenuta e pulizia impeccabile. Le camere sono silenziose e spaziose e piene di comfort. Il personale è gentilissimo (in particolare Maria Teresa che ci ha accolti in maniera strepitosa). Unica pecca (non imputabile all'hotel ma comunque da segnalare) è il servizio di car valet che è comodissimo ma necessita di precisione al momento check out soprattutto se si ha fretta nel partire. Nel complesso la struttura è perfetta in tutto (pulizia,personale,colazione e soprattutto posizione). Grazie di tutto da Roberto e Ornella

Tutto bellissimo , la location molto carina e confortevole , in centro a due passi dalla bellissima piazza del Duomo . Un ringraziamento ad Anna che si occupa dell'accoglienza in questa struttura . Io e mia moglie abbiamo pernottato una notte in questa splendida struttura. Si trova al centro di Ortigia, comodissimo per spostamenti a piedi. Il parcheggio non è in loco. La camera pulitissima, personale gentilissimo e disponibile. Ci siamo trovati veramente bene. La signora della reception ci ha coccolato!! Ci torneremo, lo consiglio!!!

Nel cuore dell'isola
Una piacevole sorpresa, nel cuore di Ortigia un antico palazzo diventato albergo. Camera spaziosa e arredata con stile, personale molto gentile e disponibile. Unico problema le zanzare. Si, a novembre in Sicilia ci sono tantissime zanzare che hanno rovinato il nostro pernottamento. Spero che l'albergo si attrezzi (zanzariere/zampironi/piastrine ecc.) per risolvere il problema.

Buena ubicación pero no lo recomiendo
El hotel está súper bien ubicado y el personal de recepción es súper amable, pero hay detalles del hotel que deben saber los futuros huéspedes para no pasar mal rato. No tiene ascensor, el aire acondicionado es súper caliente y en la noche parece q lo apagan, un día no nos hicieron la limpieza a la habitación, ni sustituyeron toallas. La recepción trabaja hasta cierta hora, luego si necesitas algo no tienes a quien acudir. El estacionamiento es externo, un día llegamos tarde y no encontramos donde estacionarlo tuvimos que ubicar un parking por nuestra cuenta y devolver al hotel caminando. La verdad que muy incomodo todo.

La struttura è bella, si trova nel cuore di Ortigia a pochi passi dal lungomare e da tutte le comodità. Il personale è gentilissimo e accogliente. La camera è pulita e spaziosa L’unica nota negativa è la mancanza di un parcheggio in loco, abbiamo dovuto lasciare l’auto in un parcheggio a pagamento lontano 600metri (circa 8minuti) a piedi.

A very special visit
A great place for seeing Syracuse, lovely room, spotlessly clean, lovely people and service. The breakfast was more than adequate, the food in the restaurant was exceptional. Only problem was parking the car but that is not the hotels fault. I would recommend the hotel and location to anyone

Pleasant stay
The first room we were put in had a strange smell coming from he bathroom, not pleasant at all but we don’t like complaining so I shut the bathroom door and we headed out to explore. On return the bathroom door seemed to be stuck and neither of us or the receptionist could open it so they moved us into another room which was lovely and minus the smell, thank goodness. Only a one night stay and managed to park in a free parking spot not too far away so overall a very pleasant stay.
