Well located hotel with an efficient, helpful staff. The rooms are quite large, well laid out with a sitting area and two double beds which were super comfy. The public and four private onsens were ideal for soaking to soothe tired muscles. Highly recommend!

Not too far from the station this hotel offers comfortable rooms and a nice spa. The staff was able to speak Englisch. They offer a public bath as well as a few privat family baths and a sauna.

Wat Hotel in Takayama is excellent. Location is good, walking distance to Sanmachi Suji famous street, the red bridge and various other locations in the town. The property itself is fantastic, with a welcoming area where you get a free drink (beer included) per person when you check-in, very nice rooftop area. The rooms are amazing (we got a superior twin whose size was bigger than US-based hotels -- it was huge). Breakfast was fantastic. Parking was provided at 800 yen right there are the property. That said we went in early July so it wasn't crowded, I would imagine that busier travel periods may be different since the main parking lot fits perhaps 40 or so verhicles. Definitely recommend.

We enjoyed our stay; staff were friendly and helpful, good room design. You get to pick up your pajamas at reception to wear to the spa and for a lot of people to the bar as well. Nice bar but no barman - pay at reception and get a token for drinks or use the vending machine, free marshmellows which you can toast over the outside fire. Separate male and female spas and 4 private spas - pick a quiet time at 3pm and you have the place to yourself. Good location, we walked everywhere. Great little coffee shop about 1 minute walk away that does great cheese toast.
