"My wife, and I stayed at the Pousada Convento de Tavira hotel from Sunday 6 Sept to Thursday 10 Sept 2026. We first visited the hotel in 2024 for coffee and decided we would like to stay there, when next in Portugal. VERDICT: This is a fabulous hotel which seamlessly integrates its historic heritage with modern comforts. There is plenty of space to relax, read a book and unwind on the comfortable sofas around the hotel, in the bar, or read beside the pool. The picturesque courtyard provides an additional level of privacy and tranquility in the centre of the hotel. Unfortunately, some architectural work was being undertaken during our stay which prevented its full use. The staff are excellent - Anna and her team on the reception desk are outstanding - and quickly resolved an issues we had. All staff are friendly, courteous, and responsive. The breakfast is first class; serving quality food to suit a myriad of tastes. The breakfast staff were attentive and even remembered what morning beverage I drank the day before! The hotel location is super convenient allowing easy access to the local town; replete with restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream venues, supermarket, and train station. An inexpensive ferry journey takes you to unspoilt beaches served by ample fish restaurants. Lots of places to walk to. Would Susan and I come back to the Pousada Convento de Tavira hotel? Yes! In a heartbeat! A fine hotel with excellent staff providing a first class customer service."
"The staff at this hotel are terrific - Claudio & Marta - you make your company proud. Thanks for your help.
Our room was not ready so we were upgraded - a nice touch.
Furthermore our friends celebrated birthdays during our stay (staff picked this up from registration) and delivers Champagne and cake. I’ve not seen that before.
Breakfast was excellent and pool area beautiful although we did not have too much time to spend there.
The hotel is a short distance from the old town but just after bride is the free parking, so it was very easy (they also offer a free shuttle)
I’d highly recommend this hotel if visiting Tavira"
"A cosy apartment that served our purposes well. The apartment that we were allocated (4b) was fairly close to the road so there was a little road noise in the evening but it was perfectly quiet at night. A short walk to the local bars and restaurants, as well as having good amenities on site."
