  • One of our favourite shots from Tawang monastery in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh state, northeast India. 📿Tawang monastery is the largest Buddhist monastery in India and the 2nd largest in the world, only surpassed by Potala palace in Lhasa, Tibet. 💫It's a colossal, self-contained medieval citadel and built across three different levels and harbouring hundreds of resident monks. In this image, you are observing the approach to the main courtyard of the monastery. Jili is leaning against the whitewashed wall of the principal prayer house, which enshrines a huge Buddha statue.
