A little run down but fine! Easy walk to the town. The restaurants were all heaving with tourists so best to book if you want to eat out at high season

great location, great room, would totally stayagai

loved the motel. great lication, great room, goid size with a tiny, but sufficient kitchen, great space for sitting area. since it was off-season, it was self check in, but when I called the number to confirm we were leaving luggage in storage for a few days (while we were tramoing the Milford Track) as agreed ahead of time, the owner answered on the first & only call & took care of it. the room was clean both times we stayed. loved it. only complaint is the laundry room could use a clean. maybe not once a day, but like once every few months maybe. The one washer & dryer both worked great, but that room needs a vaccuum especially the multy-layer of cobwebs all over.

The property is a little dated but it was clean and quiet. Reception is not always staffed however when I rang about leaving my bag because I was arriving early I was advised to leave my bag at the Village Inn. When I returned to check in Teddy offered to drive me to the Alpenhorn Motel, so going over and beyond. At the end of my stay Teddy was extremely helpful and offered to drive me to the bus stop. Thanks a million.

We will never stay here again or tell our friends to stay here, because they advertised a Queen size bed but they failed to mention that it was two single ensembles joined together by a large zip right down the middle of the bed making it very uncomfortable to get a good night's sleep. It collapsed in the middle. A very dated room, needs a face lift and way overpriced for what we received.

I didnt like anything. It was old and outdated. Stains all over carpet. Took us three phone calls to get onto someone to advise we would be arriving late. Then the key was put in an envelope and attached to the reception door. With everyone else's keys.

The property is well priced and conveniently located however the room was not adequately cleaned/vacuumed and is very outdated. All dishes and kitchen pans had to be washed before using as they were not clean. Beds not great. The kitchen was however well outfitted. Toilet was very clean and the linens were soft and fresh/clean. Shower door leaked water over the floor and the shower had some mold patches on the floor. There was no staff on site, key was left taped to the door when we arrived at 4:00 p.m. This was the most disappointing accommodation we have yet experienced during our New Zealand trip.

Reception office was closed and no one was in attendance from the moment of arrival to point of departure. All communication / instructions was via notes taped on pieces of paper taped to the office door. Did not see a single motel staff. Room was tidy and clean. Double bed was rather low and on the soft side. Room was clean and tidy. Kitchen tap was leaking. Basically it is a row of self contained units with shingle car parking right outside each unit door. If service is required a mobile phone number is provide to call for assistance.

This was the worst hotel on our entire trip. The office closed at 4pm. We called ahead and the person did not want to have to come back to meet us. Went thru a pre-pay process to avoid him having to make a trip. Arrived - room pretty run down. A friend locked himself out and had to call someone to come unlock the room. The owner/mgr arrived pretty quickly. Our fan plug was broken - asked for another one - was told maintenance not in on the weekend as he was in his vehicle pulling out. No offer of anything else. With a little fixing up it could be ok - but no effort has been put into it. Stayed in much nicer locations for much less money during the trip. Would not recommend.

Good choice for Te Anau

Alphnorn is on a residential street that also has several other small motels. It is a short walk (using a cut-through) to the lake front and not far to restaurants and shopping, We appreciated having a kitchenette and separate bedroom. The front office was not open during the time we were there, but the keys were left for us and a note on the door gave a phone number to call if needed.

Room for improvement

The place was not very clean. There was a stain on the double bedsheet. The kitchen utensils, pots, plates, bowls, cups and glasses were not properly cleaned. The laundry room was quite dirty. The living room sofa looked worn off. The nicest place of this motel room was the bathroom. The motel office was closed most of the time and hence, we were not able to let them know our concerns.

Me gustó la localización. No me gustó: encontrar menaje para cocinar sucio, debajo de los cojines de los sillones restos de comida, ropa de cama muy vieja, las toallas si estaban bien.
