Hotel is situated on Alberni, where many luxury brands are located. Close walks to many coffee shops and restaurants. Transit friendly with nearby train and bus stations. Super clean hotel with much of the old Shang-ri La decor still maintained (and well kept). Amazing bed and pillows (with options to choose). Gym and pool are sublime with great city view. Staff are attentive and super helpful. Definitely worth checking out and staying at if you’re searching for higher end downtown hotels in Vancouver.

Everything about this hotel is wonderful. You can't beat the location; literally walking distance to a multitude of shopping/dining options, cafés as well as tourist attractions. The rooms are spacious and the staff's attention to detail was superb. The gym was clean, modern and convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Hyatt Downtown Alberni and we'd definitely stay here again!

It's a quiet hotel, part of a larger residential building, and formerly a Shangri-La. Room was spacious and super clean and perhaps just a tiny bit dated. Location is great, right in the heart of downtown Vancouver and walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and the water.
