"Everything was great at the hotel from the first day to the last. "

"We stayed 15 nights in a Junior Suite. The room was wonderful, large bedroom and en-suite, clean, air conditioned with very original Spanish design and art works. In fact the whole hotel was full of antiques as the house and now hotel has been in the same family for centuries. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, of high quality. We didn’t dine, but there is a full restaurant for those who wish. Locally within a 3-5 min walk there are plenty of bars / eating places at reasonable prices. These are very Spanish, full of locals and not a tourist trap. The pool was a reasonable size and never crowded, the gardens are second to none and the whole hotel, being an ex plantation is set around banana plant fields. It is very secluded. The staff are second to none, we have had good service over the years and this is up there among the best. They just did it naturally it did’t feel forced in any way and as such made the stay more like stopping at a friends than a hotel. LaPalma in general is very rural; it is not Tenerife and a hire car is pretty essential to get around. We got the impression that the hotel, whilst being in the opposite side to the capital, is on the sunny side. It’s a small island so getting anywhere is no more than about a half hour drive. I suppose the bottom line is, would we recommend the hotel to others: most certainly."

"Room was good and food was very good. Good entertainment shows every evening. Great place. Nice walk (15-20min) to the beach. 20 min the next town. 40 min bus ride to los llanos from fuencaliente. Beautiful island, not too busy in summer, just right for our taste."

"Enjoyed our 3 night stay. Modern, clean comfortable room with fantastic views. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good generally but grilled meats were chewy. Ample parking at the hotel but for a fee (10 euros/day). However, parking can be found along the road approaching the hotel. Area surrounding the hotel was quiet with few dining options."

"The gardens in which the hotel is built are beyond comparison, a real oasis. The pool is very attractive, with plenty of sunbed area around it. The beach, the local restaurants, the little shops and the bus stop are all very close, and there is a good walking route to the town of Santa Cruz avoiding the main road (50 mins)."

"The location of the hotel was very good for access to local restaurants, the bus stop and a couple of shops including a small Spar and a Hyperdino (which is just a very small convenience store). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was fine, but the mattresses on the twin beds were worn through (we could feel the metal of the springs), and the kitchen equipment was rather sparse compared with other similar hotel room kitchenettes (for example no spatula or suitable utensil for cooking in the frying pan, no grater or sieve or vegetable knife)."
