"to begin with I have to admit I liked the 501 against my better judgement at times but the location and views allows a lot to be forgiven.
I can imagine the 501 in its glory days would have been spectacular. the architecture is still on place and quality never goes out of style.
however the old girl does look a little tired and could benefit from a little renovation in places.
the staff, mainly Italian or course and many locals, can be a little abrupt or disinterested when they are busy...

The gardens are spectacular and the views are incomparable.
It’s far enough away from the town center thanks makes it a quiet retreat but close enough to get to within a few minutes."

Everything was great — the location is perfect, right in the center of Pizzo Calabro with lots of dining options just steps away. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I’d suggest is adding a dehumidifier or better ventilation, as the humidity was noticeable at times. Overall, a lovely experience!"

"Seems like the nicest place in town to stay. A bit hard to get to from the autostrada."
"My stay at this property was not what I expected. Had to deal with a lot of tiny ants in the property everyday, beds were old & creaky & communication with host was difficult at times. Host said ant issue was if there were crumbs left around (not the case) or because of the time of year…just an excuse to not resolve issue! Was told that I only needed to message them if we needed something & we asked for extra towels at start of our stay & never got them. TV didn’t work & again reached out to host for issue to take more then half our stay to be fixed. A/C was also quite noisy. No toiletries provided…some cleaning supplies left behind by previous visitors. It is about a 20 minute walk into town & with the very hot temperatures you were drenched in sweat by the time you got there. Thankfully we learned about a small company that would drive you into town for 5 euros each in a 2 person tuk-tuk & we used them…highly recommend them! If you don’t have a car during your stay find somewhere else to stay…very disappointed!"
