Quiet and very pleasant

Previous reports gave us an understanding of what to expect so we were well prepared before we arrived. Room #7 is full of old world charm but with a new extravagant bathroom. Twin showers but twin basins would have been better... (seldom seen in all but very few hotels). Expensive decor and a large room. Continental breakfast with an interesting homemade quince jam... great coffee with refills... served near the large pool. Pool area great which led out to an extraordinary 'cactus garden'. I'm not into cactus but these were huge and in flower, something not to be missed. I should add that the pool was a little substandard and needed cleaning but either way, as we were not wanting to swim, it didn't worry us. Those with children may think differently.

Authentic Disappointment

Certainly not our cup of tea. The establishment promotes mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health: we put off returning to the accommodation because it was depressing, uncomfortable and dark (3 of the 4 lamps didn't even have bulbs) - not good for our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. The included breakfast was limited, we saw noone save the masseuse and the one of the kitchen staff during our stay and there was no housekeeping even though the shower had no screen and the bathroom remained saturated throughout the day. Certainly not worth $200 a night.

I absolutely loved my stay at this quirky place. It was comfortable, clean and very relaxing. The staff were great and the food was delicious - great place to stay.

Was so so wonderful & an opportunity to really unwind. As soon as you drive into the driveway, you feel relaxed. The ambience of the resort is unique. The vegetarian food is tasteful and nutrious. The staff is ver friendly, without being to overbearing. My facial was bliss.

Just stayed overnight and wasn't actually there for anything other than sleeping and breakfast - both of which were good.

So relaxing and spacious. Food was carefully prepared to my individual needs. Fresh and delicious. All the staff were polite and keen to offer advice and assistance. Truly a refreshing alternative to the usual hotel chain rooms.

Gorgeous retreat, very peaceful

A very unique resort beautifully presented with lovely rooms. I would have like to stay a lot longer and I had a perfect massage.

Spa experience hotel retreat

Stunning two story old mansion nestled amongst large lawns , ancient trees and surrounded by grape vines. Some of the best vegetarian food we have eaten, the chef is a hidden treasure of this hotel. Massages and reflexology were excellent. Coastal towns nearby were well worth the visit.

Inconsistent

Whilst a nice setting there were too many inconsistencies for a property that aims to be a relaxing retreat. There is plenty of examples of needed maintenace both inside the room and in the grounds, from power point coming off the wall to gardens in need of care. Also wildlife in the room is in need of pest management. The furnishings in the manor were not congruent giving a cluttered feel. Whilst the included breakfast was simple but nice, paying for a coffee was a bit huh considering the rate for the stay.

R&R at Port Elliot

If you are looking for a place that offers a relaxing ambience - a getaway from every day routine and some pampering then this is a great place. It's close enough to the hustle and bustle of Port Elliot main strip so if you need some retail therapy in between the relaxation then it's not too far. Lots of nooks and crannies to enjoy including a swimming pool, a library, spa treatments and a lovely outdoor sun room and café area.
