Thanks for your feedback. All of our oceanfront suites feature a full kitchen or kitchenette, in addition to an outdoor gas BBQ. For guests that value close proximity to the ocean, Orveas and Rooftop Oceanfront Suites are 50 ft back from the ocean edge. The property is conveniently located, 10 minutes from the Sooke town center, and approximately an hour from downtown Victoria and the Victoria airport.

So glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. For guest reference, our WIFI connectivity is in fact excellent, but cell phone reception as you noted, is spotty. This will improve with a new cell tower. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

Mr. Kuypers, We did in fact clarify the details of your booking at the time of check in, given that you had 'assumed' that your unit included a private hot tub. You reserved the unit online at a nightly rate of $249.00 CAD with Expedia, and were invoiced for this amount at check-in. You booked a suite without a private hot tub (in accordance with the amenities/descriptions provided by Expedia). Had we not been fully booked, we would have offered you a suite with a private hot tub. As per the 'appointments being cheap', I think most guests will objectively disagree (50 ft from the ocean, floor to ceiling gas fireplace, hardwood floors etc).

The blinds are semi opaque (not transparent) to maximize the spectacular ocean and mountain views. Ocean Point Suite also features a second set of bedroom blinds, which in addition to light dimmers, affords our guests an extra level of privacy. While the property is indeed private and secluded, it is also a 10 minute drive from the Sooke town center, where a wide variety of restaurants and other amenities are available.

It is unfortunate that the information that was provided at check in was evidently misunderstood. In order to maximize guest privacy, it is our practice that the top and lower floors remain unoccupied and unavailable when the main level Ocean Point Suite only is booked (at some cost to ourselves). In fact, for guest convenience, we provided access to you through the lower level suite, to the private hot tub and patio. There was really no need to be peering around corners at all, given that you were the only occupants in the building.

A selection of restaurants and grocery stores is just a 10 minute drive away, in the Sooke town center. A full kitchenette with sink, fridge and microwave is provided with each unit, as well as a gas BBQ. Given your issues with your card, extra time was required to process your booking (that we subsequently helped you to resolve).
