We will never forget our experience at the Stalheim Hotel. It is old world and wonderful! Walking into the room was like walking back in time. The colors, the fabrics, the furniture, and the bathroom were from another era. The beds were very cozy and comfortable. The view from our window was breathtaking. It was hard to pull ourselves away from looking out over the amazing mountains and valley below. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the large dining room. They offer a very large choice of delicious foods at the dinner buffet and at breakfast. The hotel also has a very nice shop which sells good quality clothing, lovely gifts, and souvenirs.
The view is outstanding and the hotel and lobby are beautiful. The antiques are wonderful and the museum tour was fabulous! Great food. We took the short Kingโs Road hike and it was fabulous! Connections to and from the hotel are well- coordinated however the 11:55 bus to catch the 1:05 Voss to Oslo train was too tight for comfort however we made it with 30 seconds to spare.

Amazing location overlooking valleys and mountains. Tour groups pour through nonstop. Was a grand hotel 100 years ago. However it has not been updated since then. Good for 1 nite.

The hotel rooms are a bit dated but the location is amazing with beautiful views. Make sure you walk the closed Stalheimsklevia road just outside the hotel.

High volume hotel for tour groups. Could be amazing if renovated
Amazing overnight stay at the Stalheim Hotel as a mid-point for our Norway-in-a-Nutshell tour. We absolutely loved the historic hotel. The lobby areas are wonderful for hanging out. Great service at the bar (as well as front desk and restaurant). We fell in love with the surrounding area - doing the hike to Nali and down the Stalheimskleiva winding road. Despite the age of the hotel, the rooms were very comfortable with nice showers and unbelievable views!
We have booked 3 rooms 108,214,314 and found bed bug in room number 314.one was dead and one was alive .
This is very terrible
I wish we would not have stayed
Incredible location and views. The room was showing its age but everything was clean and worked properly. The lobby has a lot of great furniture and decorations with a mad men vibe. I appreciate that the staff was able accommodate our special requests and also arrange pickup and dropoff from the Stalheim Kryss bus station.

The location is tranquil and breathtaking. The restaurant was outrageously expensive and not very good at all.

Charming hotel with incredible views. Food is average to subpar. Interior decor is subpar, particularly in the rooms. Overall location, view, ambience and service quality is really good.
Stalheim hotel is an amazing location with absolutely gorgeous views of the valley. The hotel staff was amazing as well. The bartender personally made me some mulled wine that he prepped from scratch on a particularly cold evening. Had an amazing experience that I won't soon forget.
Exceedingly outdated property worst than any motel Iโve stayed at. The views are incredible but the rooms and facilities desperately need an upgrade. The hotel staff is also completely unhelpful as I was trying to get a taxi to and from Flรฅm train station (all the hotels in Flรฅm had been booked and this was the closest accommodation I could find for my Norway in a nutshell tour). I had called ahead of my stay to try to arrange a taxi but the staff was never willing to help. I wound up paying $100 USD from Flรฅm station for a taxi and $200 USD by taxi back to Flรฅm station. Mind you it is a 30 min taxi ride. Absurd rates. It turns out there were tour buses and other guests going to catch the same bus as myself but the hotel staff made no effort to help me find a way back to the station even after I had inquired about these options. The rooms were also probably the most outdated and disgusting rooms Iโve ever stayed at.
Great view. Charming large lobby. Favorite destination for tour buses. Dingy carpet in hallways and room. Room smelled. Dated furniture. No TV. Lack of infrastructure investment shows. No personality or energy. Dull and boring.
Stalheim is an old school hotel with lots of interesting features. The grounds are beautiful and definitely worth checking out! Itโs dated but part of its charm but some features could use updating.
