"This was my first visit to Laughlin, and I’m glad I chose The Riverside. The pool and hot tub area were excellent, and I’m always a fan of a good pool bar. Overall, the resort had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I stayed in the South Tower, and the room appeared to have been renovated fairly recently. The décor was modern and tasteful. Housekeeping was generally good, although I did notice a few strands of hair on the shower wall and smudges on the sliding glass door. My only disappointment with the room was that the sliding glass door was permanently sealed shut. Even without a true balcony, it would have been nice to open it for some fresh air and to enjoy the spectacular 26th floor river views. The biggest letdown was the buffet. It was easily one of the worst I’ve experienced. I’m not a picky eater, but nearly everything I sampled was dry, mushy, or both. The quality was far below what I’d expect from a resort like this. The buffet deserves a complete overhaul. On a positive note, the Frank Marino show was outstanding and one of the highlights of my trip. My only suggestion would be to invest in a dedicated theater, as the current venue feels more like a converted ballroom than a proper performance space. Despite a few shortcomings, I enjoyed my stay and would gladly return."
