“I recently stayed at this hotel in the Lake District with my family for five nights. Our main goal was to climb Scafell Pike, and this hotel stood out as the nearest option within my price range. Initially, I didn’t have very high expectations (despite the good reviews), but those quickly changed once we arrived. The location was peaceful and quiet, the car park was large and well-planned, and the room exceeded my expectations—it was far more spacious than any hotel room I’ve stayed in before....

“Beautiful building and property. Spacious rooms with decent wifi, fridge, fan and comfortable chairs and bed. Good restaurant in the building too. Enjoyed the critters in the yard: cats, peacocks, Guinea hens, chickens, geese, and scrunchy faced pigs. Would have loved to have stayed longer. ”

“Unfortunately our booked apartment accommodation was unavailable due to a gas leak. However, we were moved to a nice double room and given free breakfast to make up for this. We were also offered 50 % of dinner but the available dining slots were extremely limited so couldn't use that. It was a very comfy hotel, with a great shower, a pleasant mile walk to Keswick. I'd definitely stay again”

“Nice place to stay. Coffee shop not far away and walkable - very nice. Need a car as narrow lanes to get to and no footpaths. Service at breakfast on the 1st morning was slow but that was due to the young girl serving. Not there when we arrived and waited 10 minutes before she appeared. Left dirty dishes on tables when she could have easily removed when bringing other dishes etc...She was friendly enough. 2nd morning, totally different service. Lady on duty was attentive...
