"Positives:
- smooth airport transfer, arranged via chat beforehand
- friendly front desk staff
- safe residential neighborhood, somewhat walkable for Nicaraguan standards, with a shopping center 5min away on foot
Negatives:
- the room felt extremely damp and had a musty smell, probably due to the shower that was not separated from the sleeping area (the shower / bathtub was directly in the room)
- the hotel is showing wear and tear, a deep clean would have helped but ideally it needs to be refurbished
- so many mosquitoes, needs regular fumigation
- no windows in the room, poor air circulation and very dark
- tiny toilet, felt very claustrophobic
I have to be honest, I decided to stay at another hotel after viewing the room. 5 minutes in the room gave me uncountable mosquito bites. I myself come from a tropical country and I do understand that insects are somewhat unavoidable in outdoor areas, but the amount of mosquites in the indoor areas are unacceptable. It’s a sign that the hotel is not regularly fumigated. The room had a distinctive musty smell and it felt very uncomfortable.
The driver picked us up and brought us to the hotel, but that was basically it. Zero hospitality, barely brought us to the car, did not offer to help us with our bags. I’ve had a better experience with your average taxi driver. "
"Food exceeded my expectations by a lot!!! Breakfast was great!!! And the menu for lunch and dinner a la carte was very very very good!!! If I lived in Managua, I would consider going to eat there.
Service was also GREAT!!!! Staff pitching in to help during “peak” moments, since I think we had the entire hotel dedicated to the athletes."
"I have stayed several times at this hotel. Mainly because the price is right, its a decent property, the location is close to the airport and the staff are very nice and helpful always. There are a lot of misquitos at the hotel, just due to its location. I highly recommend it. "
"We enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was clean, well maintained with ample space in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. A great location for shopping and eating. "
"The place is nice with the beach and swimming pool. Their bathrooms are terrible on the resort. Also the cleanness of the rooms are okayeesh. But the bathroom looks really old and needs more work. Also the house keepers are very protective and slow on replying for extra towels or toilet papers. The rooms has a lot of insects entering due to cracks through the doors and window. This place needs a lot of fixing in order to maintain tourists coming from out of the country. Because it seems like the locals are the only ones keeping them up float. The only great plus I can give them is their swimming pool and beach. But staying there I wouldn’t recommend it just because of how the rooms are pourly maintained. Also the dinner is great but it seems they reuse some of the food from lunch. "
"This hotel was AMAZING! For anyone who has accessibility issues, I would contact the hotel in advance and ask to have a room near reception/the pool. We actually timed it once and the walk was over 4 minutes to our cabin and there were lots of stairs. We're all able bodied so it was fine but I can imagine this would be difficult for some. The restaurant food was delicious. The breakfast was a buffet and it was amazing. We had 1 dinner onsite on our last day and all the food was incredible but it's significantly more expensive than eating in San Juan Del Sur. Most days, we went into town to grab a late lunch or fried chicken or street meat for dinner later. All in all, it was incredible. The pools were super fun, my kids loved the water slide and the waterfall jump. We saw howler monkeys. Watch for the monkey poo on the deck. The staff do a good job cleaning it up but it's still there sometimes. The horseback riding from the property isn't crazy expensive, it was like $46/horse, which was very reasonable. I had already booked a private tour through someone else so we stuck with that. The room does have an inventory that you're supposed to review within 3 hours of checkin, the bowls and drapery rod were missing from our room so I reached out to them. The front desk use WhatsApp and are very responsive. Also, something to note, the power went out 3 times during our visit, only 1 time was it for over 30 minutes, the other two times were short. Just something to know. "
