“When i arrived i was sent the code to the key safe to get the keys. When I opened it there was no key in the safe. Having phoned the contact number and cutting a long story short a member of staff had gone off with the keys in his pocket. Also there was no shower gel in the shower. The kitchen is communal and the walls are not thick and I was awaken by the sound of cups being knocked together at approximately 6 am.”

“We stayed for a night - beautiful room, comfortable bed and relaxing stay! Beautiful breakfast in the morning too, friendly staff and perfect location! The only thing for me was the stain on the bathroom floor. Thanks for a lovely stay ”

“The room was clean and very compact, it lacked appeal but had most of the amenities you would want at this price. There is no interaction with staff at all as self check in, the heating wasn’t on although the radiator in the hall was hot, one curtain hardly covered the window, my room,2, was at the front of the property so people leaving the pub were talking loudly at 11.30/12pm and then again at 1am which woke me up, the shower was good, the wash basin so tiny you couldn’t get the tiny kettle...

“I booked two rooms as a last minute stay. Immediately on bookimg I had two phone calls that I missed as I was in my way to the accommodation. I then received a text message to tell me they could not accommodate my booking and to cancel. I was adviced by Expedia not to cancel as this would be against the cancellation policy - I am still trying to get a refund and will probably have to esculate the process”

“We stayed two nights for our wedding anniversary. We had a great time despite all the museums being temporarily closed. They will be open next week possibly. Dawn and Danny were fantastically hospitable. The room was very comfortable with a huge shower. We ate in one evening after a drink outside. The standard of the food was fantastic as were the breakfasts. We will undoubtedly return when the National Trust have opened everything up again.”
