"The staff was excellent, I've seen some unkind reviews about the staff, and I did not see anything that was off-putting. Everyone was really helpful. The restaurant is quite good, too. My wife and I often ate there, despite there being plenty of restaurants in the area. This is, by far, the best Marriott I've stayed at, especially for the Courtyard brand. We were surprised by how nice the room was. Everything was really clean, too. The hotel is nicely situated. You can easily walk to the shopping areas, the old city with the historic walls and towers, the Caspian Sea, etc. One more thing: you can take buses from the airport, and several stop right next to the hotel. This will save you money. We did not take a taxi, not even once."

"I decided to reward myself by staying at Shah Palace and I was not disappointed. The hotel was beautiful and conveniently located in the Old City within walking distance to most attractions in Baku. You can also take the Baku metro to reach places farther away. My stay included a nice breakfast and bottled water. Staff were so kind and helpful."

"The location was great walking around old city. To make up for this the staff were brilliant. A special thanks to Khazar and Cemil. We had a visa issue so arrived 3 hours late and they resent the driver to pick us during rush hour. They also helped organise trips late the day before including private driver trip to Sheki. Breakfast was good and regularly topped up. The only recommendation would be to make the rooms a bit more modern. They are basic and functional but not four star.Thanks to all the staff at Sunday for making it a memorable trip in lovely Azerbaijan."
