The sulfur pools at Screw's blend in with the surrounding rain forest. The hottest pools at the top are fed by by cool waterfalls, so you can keep a cool head while soothing the muscles below. Great way to wind. Tip: The owner loves his reggae music, so don't expect the tranquil sounds of falling water and chirping birds. It's all fun though, and adds to the Caribbean flavor.
Therapeutic heaven. The cold pool is in the upper right and the hot pool is in the back. Hop between the two and your muscles will (eventually) thank you. Tip: There is a cold waterfall at the back of the hot pool to cool your head, but you have to wade the length of the pool to get there!
A must-do activity when in Dominica is an evening at Screw's. Nestled in a lush, rain forest river gorge, the stone-lined pools here are a great way to unwind and relax the muscles after a day hiking the national trail or a day out at sea. The pools cascade from the hottest at the top to the coolest at the bottom, so pick you starting point and work your way up. One tip: Show up in your bathing suit - the changing rooms are "compact".
The bar at Screw's is colorful but otherwise pretty basic. They do stock island-brewed Kubuli beer though, and that's all that really matters.
