"Every moment here was perfect. The service of the staff was very friendly and the food reflected the characteristics of the region very well. The inn with history and depth was well felt everywhere. I could fully enjoy the hot spring and the open-air bath was literally fantastic. I would like to visit again next time if I have a chance."

"Literally opposite Aso train station if arriving by train. Has plenty of parking and less than thirty minutes drive to the volcano visitors center. Feels brand new in 2025.
Realistically you are going to need a car to have options for dinner etc. "
"Newly renovated Kumamon room made will make you smile. There are many photo opportunities with Kumamon in the property. Breakfast buffet is highly recommended. "
"A peaceful and relaxing simple retreat. Old style ryokan with tatami mats etc. We used the men only onsen and were basically alone in there. It was very clean and hot. Perfect. Also they offered complimentary coffee, tea and ramen cup. They provided everything we needed for using the baths. "
"The hotel had multiple onsen each of different style. Very enjoyable. The view from the room faced forestry, which would be beautiful in autumn when the leaves turned red. The sound on rushing water from the rapids nearby gave a soothing feeling. The service staff coordination was great too, when you arrive or checked out, they will ask for your name or room number, then inform recep or the car assistant to prepare your keys.

1/ food at the buffet was often cold or like warm,other than soup.
