Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico hotel rooms at the Banyan Tree

Hotel is in a new upscale marina area with lovely view. Very quiet and secure with an entrance in lobby allowing you to walk straight to probably the nicest mall in Cancun with many nice restaurants.

Stayed here on honeymoon. Rented a car and explored the Yucatan using the Hacienda as a base. Wonderful property, the casitas maya are excellent, and the food at the restaurant (especially breakfast) is the best of what the region has to offer. The staff are discrete, almost entirely out of site but quickly in the room to clean up once you leave for dinner, etc. Great place.

Everything about the property was wonderful. The staff, leadership, and employees COULD NOT have been nicer and more helpful. Food was the best I've had at an all-inclusive. The only thing about it that wasn't perfect was the bar drinks - the mixes tasted cheap and the drinks were not strong. That being said, the service MORE than made up for a very minor issue. If the drinks matched the rest - this place would be HEAVEN!

Very nice, small hotel (6 rooms, that backs up to a golf course. Owners very involved with the guests as well as very lovely people. Breakfast is great. Staff extremely accommodating. All at very good prices compared with the larger hotels in the zone.

Hacienda Santa Rosa will forever live in my memory as one of the most magical places I've stayed. Despite being managed by a hotel chain, it hasn't lost its patina and authenticity. As opposed to one of the larger resort’s maze of paths and pools and restaurants (and people,) the Sun Palace has a more intimate boutique hotel feel. It’s been recently renovated, and it shows. We upgraded to a honeymoon suite (room 530) at check in (tip: wait until check in to upgrade for an opportunity to negotiate the price. There was nothing to complain about this hotel. The rooms are really big, spacious and comfortable, well lit and clean. And despite the heat of Merida we never suffered. I think it is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. A lot better than bigger name hotels in the city. And the staff was really helpful and attentive. All in all the best stay I’ve had

Our second stay here. The staff is super friendly. Casy and Mari are very nice and helpful. They take pride in their work. Look forward to returning. Only wish the bed was a bit more comfortable but other than that all was very nice.

Beautiful

Small property organized and well kept. Nice balcony over looking pool, decent restaurants the chicken dinner was bomb. My only complaint is the spa prices are very high and I’m speaking as a massage therapist. But it’s what hotel spas charge. Great stay overall close to everything.
