Top Pahoa Hotel Reviews
The Pacifica Inn
10/10 Excellent
"The owners (different than the host) are the best! They made sure that we have everything we need to make our stay comfortable and stress-free as our house in Ka’u was damaged by Hurricane Lala. The Nene Room was beautiful, clean and peaceful with its large picture window overlooking the serene forest. We also stayed in Gecko room that has one bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The Gecko room is comfortable and perfect for family and longer stays. The surrounding is quiet and close to stores, restaurants, and very close proximity to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park."
Kikala Waterfall Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"The property was absolutely gorgeous. Will definitely book here again."
Kalani Oceanside Retreat
10/10 Excellent
"This is a wonderful place to stay in Puna. It is in the heart of the area and they regularly host events, which can be fun to attend. They have a cafe at the reception area with some healthy food options, mostly pre-made."

What is the difference between a 4-star and 3-star hotel in Pahoa?
The main difference between a 3- and 4-star hotel in Pahoa is the standard of service and availability of creature comforts. Three-star hotels are typically more wallet-friendly and provide the conveniences and services you need to be comfy, such as breakfast, a gym and WiFi. You can count on a bit more at a 4-star hotel — think upmarket furnishings, deluxe toiletries and extras like day spas.
What is the difference between a 3-star hotel and a motel in Pahoa?
Motels generally offer more economical rates compared to hotels, which makes them ideal if you're touring around Pahoa and sticking to a budget. A sought-after pick for overnight trips, these roadside getaways have simply furnished rooms, basic services and ample parking. Opt for a 3-star hotel and you can expect to pay more for additional space, privacy and conveniences. Guests can make use of things like a fitness center, free WiFi and business services at this kind of property.
