“The hotel had been abandoned. We managed to check-in but there have been no staff onsite since. A local has told us that the Indian company that owns the hotel has not paid the local staff wages and they have been forced to leave. The hotel is filthy, there is literally no staff anywhere to be seen. ”

“We were 2 couples that stayed at Roccos for 2 1/2 weeks. Beautiful pool area, excellent service and really good food! We had breakfast included and tested all the tasty Sri Lanka dishes. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at Roccos if/when we return to Arugam Bay <3”

“Booked this hotel through Expedia prior to my trip, when I landed in Colombo I received a text message from a French (+33) number saying that my booking at The Coconut would be cancelled, and that the prices I had booked were no longer valid! My only choices were to cancel the booking or pay the "new prices" which were 3x higher! I ended up saying I didn't want the booking and found other accommodations. I actually went to the hotel during my trip where the front desk person was frustrated...

“We stayed here when it was low season. Not many restaurants open and very few shops. Since it was Monsoon it was mosqitios everywhere. The Hotel was Nice and Will be great when finished. Staff was really Nice and helpful. ”
