"Let’s get the good stuff out of the way first: the hotel itself is in a very good location. It’s only a 15 minute walk from the island center where there’s plenty of great food and shops. The staff was very hospitable and especially patient with me on the first night when I arrived in the middle of the night. Now the rest. "Had a wonderful six night stay. Friendly staff, clean room and an awesome mattress to sleep on! Breakfast was absolutely fabulous! This was my second stay this year and will definitely be back!"

"Clean but dated and the beds aren't as comfortable as I would like but that is completely subjective and probably due to using different pillows at home. Convenient and a good price so I will be staying here again"

"A pleasant hotel with the staff equally pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was adequate but could be improved by addition of potatoes and pastries. The room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was quite small but functional. But quite small. No tissues. Shower floor had to be cleaned with a small squeegee, which was cumbersome. And there was no coffee or tea in the lobby. Downtown is easily reached by a combination of bus and subway. "

The staff went to a lot of trouble to move us to a sea view room, and the breakfast and dinner were both really tasty, although dinner was a set menu so it would perhaps be good to offer a couple of choices. The pool is lovely, and there is a safe outdoor swimming area. "

"Could not recommend Skeviks Gard enough. We had a superb visit. The scenery and property are gorgeous - the right combination of peaceful and conveniently close to the city. The staff were incredibly gracious and friendly, continuously going out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as they could. "
