Prior to booking, I was skeptical as to why such an affordable motel had such high reviews. Upon check-in, the owners warmly greeted us and showed us to the room. The modest room was exceptionally clean and owners very personable. It’s not the ritz, just what we needed. Highly recommend

An outstanding motel in Hoqiuam! The owners are absolutely wonderful and had excellent suggestions for nearby restaurants and activities. They were so so helpful. We stayed here after exploring Olympic before heading to Mount Rainier. We highly recommend Shiny motel!!

Cute little place for our quick overnight stop. The lady who is the owner was extremely welcoming, kind and friendly. She gave us lots of ideas on best places to eat. She ensured we had everything we needed for the night. Check in was easy and smooth as was the check out. Only downside was no AC that we could find so it got a little stuffy. The beds were clean and comfortable as well as the pillows. Quick access to several beaches in the area. We would definitely stay here again if we come out this way.

It’s a modest motel, but it has a character, in big part due to its wonderful hostess. On a modest budget, it is a very well run family type motel, where you are treated as a long awaited cousin…it can benefit from some updating, but it is very clean, with comfortable beds and traditional yet clean bathroom, place. It’s a hard-to-find gateway to Olympic NP overnight stay, in a town that had a brighter past due to logging and fishing (some old buildings are amazing!), but living modestly now, they are really trying! I would decently stay there again.

6/10 Okay

Liked: Cleanliness
It feels similar to a family-run guesthouse. One front desk staff member was somewhat cold, while another was overly enthusiastic, which made me feel a bit uneasy. Of particular concern, during check-in, the front desk staff wrote down all my credit card details—including the CVC security code—on a sheet of paper. I am unsure if this aligns with standard operating procedures, but by the time I noticed, it was already too late to stop them. If given the choice, I would not have consented to having my complete card information written down manually. This left me worried about potential unauthorized charges throughout the rest of my trip. Rather than overly enthusiastic service, I would strongly prefer the property follow more standardized, secure operational procedures.
