"Great and comfortable stay"

"Room was pretty clean but felt like I had walked into a time paradox as the room felt like it was from the 90's, bed skirt was damaged and the bath also heavily stained and damaged as well. Quiet location and slept pretty well but I always search for a hotel with a gym however expedia needs to start filtering hotels like this out as a basic room costing into 3 figures and then im being asked to pay to use the gym which is totally out of order in my opinion. The bar was obscenely expensive (£4.85 for a soft drink) and the bar tender dipping the glass into the ice as well a massive H&S issue so didnt bother with dinner and breakfast was also not included either. As a whole not the worst place ive been but unlikely to stop here again"

"The hotel is nice , the staff let it down I received email asking to book parking but on arrival they said sorry nothing available which wasn’t a deal breaker. For people that are in business the breakfast is terrible From waiting 20 to 30 mins to order and another 20 + for food and when asking can I order please being told off by the staff to wait your turn On the last day I ordered bacon and egg cob and the fried egg was actually cold they apologised but I didn’t have any more time to wait for them. I personally have seen 3 other people walk out because they couldn’t wait anymore and the staff say I told him they need to wait I spent 8k on hotel rooms for my company to do an exhibition and was treated with disdain. The staff are rude telling people to wait over and over when 45 mins to an hour is not acceptable We normally plan meet at 8.30 leave by 9.00 but had to be down for 8.00 to leave for 9.00 sorry this isn’t good enough. When checking out asked was everything ok and saying no they said ok."

"Inside the room is OK. Quite spacious. But outside the room is very very run down and messy, with very narrow corridor and staircase that only one person can fit through. It is an old apartment with a history, but you don't see the history, you just feel like being in a very poor neighbourhood. They charged us CAD 265, price of a 3 star hotel with hostel quality. We checked again and it was listed at 44 British pounds. We could not get in the "hotel" because the entrance digital lock was not set up with the code they gave us. It was raining and we were outside on the street. No lobby to hang around. After 30 minutes we got in but the room digital lock was not set up. Finally got in the room after an hour of hassle. Then two hours later the smoke detector alarm went off. Called them to check and it was the smoke coming off the chimney, not to spec height, of the restaurant below. They said it happens quite often since this restaurant came in. They stopped the siren but the red alert light keeps flashing. We could not stand it and went out after calling management about it. We returned in 4 hours and red light was still flashing. Finally saw the housekeeper who turned off the alert light for good. The hot water went out after I was soaped up, just like in the movie. I had to rinse myself off with ice cold water. They do give you good quality bed linen and after the restaurant was closed, we did sleep through the night.it was quite an unpleasant adventure overall."
