"The house itself is beautiful but all around it is extremely badly taking care of. The yard is a mess, the grass high, and just next to some run down green houses. Some kind of a huge computer was making a terrible noise when we arrived, the owner allow us to turned it off thankfully. Could be a wonderful place to stay "

Though this seemed to be the trend at the other hotels we stayed at in Japan. You will need to remove and lock up your shoes in the lobby. This is common at ryokan and some hotels in Japan. Though, you can certainly tell it keeps the carpets in the hallways and rooms much cleaner in general. Would definitely recommend staying at Onn for anyone planning to stay in Nakatsugawa"
