Motel 6 Oceanside, CA

2/10 Terrible

"Staff tried to be helpful in finding adjacent rooms. Otherwise the rest of the experience was poor. Access to laundry and ice machine was closed at 9pm, which made it useless if you are out with full day activities. Beds were rock hard, sheets were quite thin. Only bar soap provided. No fridge, no shampoo, no hairdryer. Air conditioner low and high settings blow at the same speed, making the room climate hard to get right. Noisy low class neighbors.. but hotel can’t do much. It just makes the environment feel low class."

"Honestly, $45 for public parking is absurd. The resort is total chaos and the quality is pretty low. Rooms just feel and empty and there are hardly any lights on premises making walking around at night seem pretty unsafe. All in all, I’d pick another hotel that is not marketed as a resort for the purposes of squeezing fees out of people. I don’t intend on ever returning."

"We had a very smooth valet and check-in experience, quick and easy, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean, and we absolutely loved the ocean view. We were on the 5th floor, above the pool area. The balcony was private, with a great view of the ocean. Checkout was easy - we turned in our room keys, quickly reviewed the charges, retrieved our cars from the valet, and were on our way. This part of Oceanside has been beautifully revitalized, and I definitely recommend a visit, and make sure to stay at the Seabird!"

"Clean room, very cute decor all over. U can go to both hotels and use the amenities. Like the movies and playground inside the castle hotel. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast buffet included, it was ok. Lots of variety. My kids loved it. Walking distance to entrance was a huge plus."

"The gym was not open until 8am/9am. I asked about it multiple times and no one seemed to know why. I cannot stay there as a traveling business person (or even on vacation) if the gym is not open in the mornings. It is just empty so why not have it open with our key card? The door to my room did not close properly so every time I needed to pull with all my might to close it - I am sure bothering everyone on my hall."
