“The place was really quiet and the view was stunning. The breakfast was really good as well with most food being locally sourced. The Panoramic Villa was nice, there was a bit of a misunderstanding at first when the host showed us the Villa but was resolved afterwards. Also the shower seemed to be stucked to really hot temperature but adding a little force to the other side of the fosset did fix it to more reasonable temperatures.”

“The views from up at the Vila Gale Douro hotel of the surrounding hills and valley was beautiful. The pool was excellent and so nice to take in the view.”

“Antonio was the property manager while we were there for four nights. He organized a fabulous cheeseboard for us upon arrival set up an incredible personal wine tasting for us on the premise using their local wines. Antonio communicated Our meal preferences to the Chef and greeted us every morning with a smile and suggestions on where to go on the Douro Valley I highly recommend him as being the property manager full-time.”

“The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but the amenities of the hotel were what sold us, however the sauna and hot tub were not available, nor were options to look at any of the farm to table process that the website mentions. Room temperature is controlled by staff and our room was HOT! We had asked that it be set cooler but that did not happen so it was hard to get to sleep. With all of that said, the pool area was lovely! The breakfast was incredible and the staff are very lovely.”
