We had a great 2 day stay. Hotel is very clean, lovely room,fab breakfast. Aide and Mandy were a lovely couple, very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend Brantfell to anyone staying in Ambleside. Overall everything was excellent and thanks to the fantadtic hosts xx

Mandy and Ade were really lovely hosts, a warm welcome on arrival and a great breakfast too. Good recommendation for a beer at the Golden Rule, what a great pub. Would happily return for another good nights sleep.

Excellent guest house in the midfle of Ambleside

Very clean and comfortable guest house right in the middle of Ambleside, with parking available in a space 100yds away. Great,friendly service and a really good breakfast,freshly prepared. Would def use again

You can't go wrong!

I would definitely recommend a stay at Brantfell House. The English breakfast was lovely. Our bed was VERY comfortable! Adie is full of knowledge and enthusiasm about the area, and is happy to provide recommendations when asked. We felt really welcome here. There is not much parking, so Adie goes out of his way to help out!

Ambleside long weekend.

What's not to like!

Our visit was superb from start to finish. Great location. Room was immaculate, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast tasty and ample. The hosts were friendly, very approachable, couldn't do enough for us. Can't recommend Brantfell enough. We'll definitely be back.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The hosts were fantastic – attentive and welcoming – and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms were clean and tidy, though a little on the small side. Parking was straightforward, which made the experience even more convenient.

This was our first stay at this property which was very conveniently located within Ambleside. We were warmly welcomed at the properly and had a lovely room, very comfortable and smart. There was plenty of space to store clothes and the bathroom and other room. I have only left off a rating for the Eco-friendliness because I wasn’t really paying attention to this aspect of our stay so isn’t really fair to rate. I didn’t observe anything eco-unfriendly at the property. Our room facilities were excellent. Our hosts were very knowledgeable of the local area and gave us some useful help and advice as well as being very friendly. Breakfast was excellent also. Will definitely visit again.

The hosts of Brantfell house were the best. They were friendly, helpful, warm and did their best to make sure we didn’t need anything. They provided helpful information about things to do during the day, packed us a delicious lunch, and made us a delicious made-to-order breakfast. Thank you Adie and Mandy.

Lovely stay - would definitely recommend/return!

Brantfell House was very clean and very comfortable. The room is cosy but big enough for a couple with a large suitcase. The hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly, providing local recommendations and banter. They offer a packed lunch for a reasonable price if you're going hiking, and the breakfast was home cooked and yum. I really liked some of the tiny thoughtful touches, like providing a dark coloured face washer specifically labelled "Makeup Remover". There was lots of thought put into the stay here!

Amazing stay in the Lake District

We had an amazing 3 night stay in the Lake District at Brantfell House. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly providing plenty of helpful information during our stay as well as delicious breakfasts. One excellent bonus was the bag lunches they prepared for us for a small fee. These were excellent during our exploration of the lake district saving us the time (and considerable expense) of finding restaurants for lunch. Our room was quite comfortable and nicely decorated. Brantfell house was well located and in easy walking distance to many restaurants and pubs in Ambleside.
