“Lovely little spot on the outskirts of Ambleside but easily walkable to downtown. Great cozy room and absolutely phenomenal hot breakfast. Hosts were responsive, helpful, and friendly. Can't recommend this enough for anyone passing through.”

“Nice large bedroom with view Good location”

“Breakfast was very good. Quiet. Comfortable walk to town.”

“An amazing location and room. Great breakfast and convenient to walkable and drivable Lake District attractions.”

“This is the second time we have stayed here, lovely hotel and friendly staff!”

“Regrettably our room number 6. Did not smell nice. It had the smell of old wet trainers. We did mention it and a room diffuser was turned on. Some of the fixtures and fitting were falling apart. The shower was head was not appropriate for the size of the shower causing flooding. The staff were lovely and theroom was clean.”

“The hotel is in a fantastic location within easy reach of all the amenities of Windermere. Although room clean and towels, bedding clean the whole hotel and all rooms could be renovated and corridors could do with a good hoover. No maid service during stay. Also lift out of order and this seems to been out of order for some time reading previous reviews. Orrest restaurant / bar that was advertised was closed. We did try an evening meal in the hotel but very disappointing none of us could eat...

“Another great stay at Three Shires. Although a limited evening menu, food was delicious. Breakfast was the same, maybe put out juices and jams so people can help themselves. Didn’t mind that there wasn’t cereals as the portion of breakfast was huge. Big shout out to the staff”

“Nice place to stay for a couple of days. Room was clean. People were kind. And they provide a full english breakfast!”

“No SPA was available as was advertised.”
