"The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. The room had a GHD hairdryer, a good selection of tea and cofees. Communal areas were spotless and nicely decorated. We had a a good stay. The one small gripe was the cooked breakfast. Sausages and tomatoes were undercooked, it came with toasted sourdough but, it needed a softer bread. Especially as no baked beans allowed. I omitted a few things such as black pudding, egg and mushrooms. What was served wasn't increased to compensate. I would come back but I would choose a different breakfast."

"The Breakfast was wonderful. Looking at the amazing views whilst eating the finest produce was totally 5 stars. the Full Cumbrian is highly recommended. The brothers Adam and Michael would change the items on the plate for you. Top service."

"Note to travellers, please state what type of bed you require, i.e. twin or double, we didn't and had twin beds pushed together which kept sliding apart. We did advice our host of this who apologised. Also if you want milk in your room you have to advise in advance or take with you from the bar. Apart from the above comments, the room was small but extremely well appointed and beautifully decorated. I would definitely stay again, making sure all options of room were agreed in advance. The food was good and staff attentive, particularly to our furry friends. Location is great to explore Keswick and parking is easy to sort."

"Great location - quiet street close to the town centre bars and restaurants but with off street parking which is great. Clean room, comfortable, great breakfast and first class service. Would recommend. "

"The overall cleanliness of the hotel & the service was wonderful with the exception of a grumpy woman behind the bar her service was awful, she didn’t even come to take my order for lunch I waited 40minutes I even had to go & ask & order it myself up at the bar, it wasn’t even busy. She wasn’t very helpful it was as though she didn’t like the job! Her approach to customers wasn’t great really to be honest. But I certainly give 5 stars to all the other staff in the restaurant & especially the lady at reception. Thank you to those staff that made up for the grumpy one with glasses. "

"The Potter suite that I was staying in had the most beautiful view on the lake and the mountains. My comfortable room was being cleaned every day. I can also recommend the bathtub in which I took very relaxing baths. The staff is friendly and accommodated to all of our needs and were overall just very helpful. Taking morning walks to the lake is also something that I enjoyed doing a lot. The hotel truly has a magical garden. I will definitely come back to the Derwentwater Hotel when I visit the Lake District again. "
