“For a 3 star hotel this ticks all the boxes great value excellent breakfast and a lovely set dinner menu that changes daily. Lovely friendly but professional staff and quiet location but still less than a 5 minute walk to town. You do need to book for dinner as this is a very popular restaurant. If I could find one fault it would be on a personal opinion only and that is that dinner service is to quick between courses but that’s because I like each course to go down before the next is served....

“We stayed at the Horse and Farrier the night before our hike up Scafell Pike, it's only a 25 minute drive to Seathwaite Parking, if you're going up the corridor route. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. the food was lovely and the room we stayed in was clean, well presented and comfy. Definitely recommend eating nd staying here!”

They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. “An amazing stay at the Dale Head Hotel! Beautiful location and well-manicured grounds to walk around. There is access to the lake from the property, but not easily - the path is a little over-grown. The Manager, Dale, was lovely and could not have been more helpful. We were there to hike Helvellyn, and he advised us that Swirls Car park (beginning of the hike) is easily accessed from the hotel by a woodland footpath, rather than the main road, or paying for the car park.
