“I would definitely recommend a stay at Brantfell House. The English breakfast was lovely. Our bed was VERY comfortable! Adie is full of knowledge and enthusiasm about the area, and is happy to provide recommendations when asked. We felt really welcome here. There is not much parking, so Adie goes out of his way to help out!”

“Booked just one night as a last minute getaway. Stayed in the Penthouse which has a large blacony with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom great. The beams are low at the edges of the room but we are both tall and managed to avoid them :) I would highly recommend this place and will be staying here again in the future.”

“Really nice place to stay and delicious breakfast!”

“The staff here are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgable about the area. Check in was smooth, lovely big room with hot tub, gorgeous breakfast, comfy bed to name but a few positives. The only slight negative and I emphasis slight - room 2 ground floor can get quite noisy outside due to customers coming and going for breakfast. However this would not put me off and would definitely return. Parking limited.”

“had a lovely stay at the Waterwheel with my husband - an excellent guest-house right in the centre of Ambleside, but still quiet and peaceful. Our room was clean and comfortable with some nice touches such as homemade flapjacks and a glass of port. the service was fantastic and were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. a parking permit for the local car park was also a great bonus. we will definitely stay again next time we are in the Lakes”
